Most places in Baños, turning up as a solo female and ordering 1/2 a litre of wine gets some pretty strange looks. Here, I was greeted with extraordinarily polite staff (who didn't treat me like a gringo) phenomenal food and good wine. I had the small Swiss equivalent to an antipasto platter and it was brilliant. Being a backpacker and... More

I quite liked the food here (maybe the BEST tomatoes I have ever had .... is that due to the volcanic soil?) and went back a couple of times. Sure, there are cheaper options, but if you like your food, this is a good Banos option.

I stopped by for dinner after hiking. Nice atmosphere on the roof. The chicken served in stroganoff type sauce & mushrooms, fresh veggies and fried mashed potato patty was fantastic. I can't recommend the carrot cake (cold & dry). Overall excellent experience.

Get the Gratin de macaroni and a cold beer. Hands down, the best thing after a long day of driving/travel. We were recommended by the Hotel Alisamay and loved it. The patio upstairs is nice and quiet. Know your Spanish so you can converse with the servers. The menu was in four languages. Awesome place, can't wait to visit again!

After a travel day full of adventures, we were hungry. We had already been to the thermal baths & we were ready to eat. We agreed fondue sounded like a fun idea. This place turned out to far exceed our expectations. We were offered seats on the terrace & had no idea how lovely the rooftop was until we got... More
