Good food, decent prices

Asked one of our guides where locals eat and he recommended this place. It's quite hidden, coming from San Martin (main street), take a left up on Antartida Argentina and look for an unassuming door on the left side of the road. Take the stairs up and you're there. I felt like they had never seen a vegetarian person before. I had to beg to receive just a few boiled veggies enough to serve a toddler. Picture included. After some debate I received a cheese omelette. Yet no veggies could be added to the omelette. I ordered two drinks and only received one. If you are vegetarian eat at... More

I needed a king crab fix and this really hit the mark. I had the Chilean king crab which was one of the chef's recommendations and it was delicious. I would definitely go back to try something else on their menu. Please note though that they have moved from Antartida Argentina to 25 de Mayo which is several blocks away... More

My wife and I were constantly badgered and told that we HAD to try the food at this place. We eventually gave in on our last day in Ushuaia. We go there and it's a small door that leads you up the stairs to a second story restaurant. Simple menu = LOVE. So many different crab dishes=MORE LOVE. We practically... More

Although this restaurant features seafood, particularly Crab, I opted to try a meat dish when we visited Chiko whilst looking for a lunch one day in Ushuaia. I selected the "Grilled Loin with reduction of Malbec" (a lovely Argentinian Red Wine I have fallen in love with)and Thousand Leaves of Potatoes".... The meat melted in my mouth with the taste... We had this restaurant recommended to us by a local tour guide, and found it to be an authentic Patagonian restaurant catering to locals not tourists. It is away from the main street and homely but uninspiring to look at, but the seafood is absolutely stunning.

Recommended by our guesthouse, we went there for lunch! What a nice suprise to discover a authentic place like this: local fresh sea food, home made, reasonable price, appreciated by the local clients which is a sign of quality! Having tried calamar à la romana in serval different continents including its country of origin Spain, this dish is the best... More

We just had dinner there. The food was delicious and the stuff was friendly. We had calamari as starter (very recommended) and trout (very good) and Chilean king crab (was my first king crab; I found it good but not a dish which I would regularly order).

Had a quick lunch here. ( Argentinian quick). Had natural crab and a nice malbec. Very clean. Service slow as usual but cordial. Crab was good quality served with Louie sauce. Butter was available. Would eat here again.
