King Crab

The seafood was very fresh, and we were assured it had been caught locally - even if some of it came from Chile! 2 of us had the King Crab in garlic and oil, and although delicious, it was nowhere near as good as the grilled Black Hake and the blue cheese Cod. The staff were very friendly, but... read more

Despite this being a sea food restaurant there were omelette, pasta and salad options for vegetarians and wait staff that were able to explain what options were available in a friendly way and in English. It has interesting historical pieces on the walls and a view of ships. Much better than Chiko restaurant for vegetarians. Credit cards accepted. WiFi available.

We arrived late & hungry for seafood and Tia Elvira delivered. It is not the best seafood I ever had, but good. The plate of mussels was very satisfying. My bowl of scallops came in a tasty broth.... perhaps too many to eat without a side. It would have been better to have rice, pilaf (or ?). Tia Elvira is... More

We came here for lunch and had a pretty underwhelming centolla in garlic sauce. I had a much better centolla dish at Volver the following day so I don't know if Tia Elvira was using old crab because the flavors and textures were totally different. Tia Elvira's does have a bunch of cool stuff on the walls, resembling a museum.... More

We were recommended to go to this restaurant by someone at our hotel. Both because of that, and its proximity to the harbor and the pick-up spot for our hotel's van, we had lunch here on our one full day in Ushuaia. Ushuaia is a rather unattractive town with one function and one function only––servicing tourists who come either to... More

This place had been recommended by friends and in blogs. We had the king crab which on the menu comes only as filet meat (not the crab which you open and enjoy its meat). It had no taste and was very watery. We paid twice as much as the place 2 blocks away. The service was slow and not very... More

Our waitress was very efficient, friendly and attentive, but the food was sub-par. The crab in parmesan sauce was watery and tasteless, and the mussels were full of grit (but had a tasty sauce). We expected the high prices as this is Ushuaia, but this restaurant's prices were comparatively higher than the other places we ate in town.

While in Ushuaia some one told us about this place we walked AND assedio AND realized we had walked past IT a bunch if times. We were early and I ordered the king crab dish and loved it My friends had the black cod and raced about it. Definitely worth the search

This is a cozy little restaurant with view of the harbor that serves good seafood. Staff is friendly; there is really nothing to complain about. Compared to some rip-offs in Ushuaia this one really makes the difference!

The restaurant is quite cosy. The wait staff is very polite and friendly. The food is quite good. Generally, the food is not served with any side dish; therefore, be sure to ask for one. The staff should point this out while taking order. The place is a bit small, so plan your meal in advance.
