Lovely meal in a quaint garden and kind service

I had one of the prettiest, tastiest meals of my 3 wk trip to Argentina here. It was trout on smoked corn and salsa, topped with colourful edible flowers. I was fairly early, sat out in a charming little garden, which was very refreshing after a full day of hiking. At the end of my meal, after I... read more

It is dangerous to have high expectations but this was brilliant. Very friendly welcome and service and all food excellent. The shrimp starter was the bestI have had for ages and I am a shrimp lover. Excellent beef main (one between two was plenty) and brilliant desserts. We Immediately booked for tomorrow and intend to have the fondue which looked... More

From the first minute we arrived at the restaurant, the staff was very friendly and helpful. First we had brocolli soup and prawn, both were delicious . Our main meal were good as well. I love it the brownie with ice cream lavender . Excellent service and the price is really similar to all restaurants.

I went there with my girlfriend and we had a good time. I suggest, you make a reservation. Staff was very nice. Food was good but there was missing something. I had the cordero which was not as tender as I expected it to be and fish which was good. We came back the next day for some cake in... More

Had dinner with my wife and had a nice evening with an uneventful dinner. Nothing was great, my risotto was OK and service was good. The place is legit but nothing i saw justifies a rating as I see on tripadvisor.

Important: they DO NOT TAKE CREDIT CARDS, only cash. Keep in mind it's hard to get money out of Arms in the area. Besides that, the food was good. My girlfriend ordered the trout with pesto, which didn't blow her mind but she really liked the side of polenta with tomato sauce. I got the rib eye steak with potatoes,... More

The trout with pesto is really great. My partner took it while i took the lamb ribs. The lamb was also good but not the best we have eaten in el calafate.

My companions and I went to Kau Kaleshen on our second night in El Calafate after hiking on an icy glacier for the day. My friend ordered the french onion soup and was delighted with its taste, but something may have been lost in translation as the soup came out with the the entrees for my other dinner mates and... Went for a Christmas Eve dinner with the family and ended up having the worst dinner we had during our 13 day vacation through Argentina and Chile. They had a pre fixe menu for Christmas Eve and maybe one of the 5 dishes was actually edible. I don't consider myself a cook and I can cook a better meal than... More

Can be short about the food: very tasteful, good portion size, decent prizing. I had the ossubuco which was very tender. My gf had the risotto: also good. More important though, we found, was the welcoming, relaxed but attentive atmosphere. An oasis in the somewhat soulless and opportunistic tourist trap el calefate seemed to us.
