In February 2016 a group of seasoned travelers spent one week in San Carlos de Bariloche Argentina. We discovered this wonderful restaurant, El Patacon, on our first night in Bariloche. Our first night's experience was only exceeded by three more trips to El Patacon for a total of four unique dinning experiences. The service and attention from the staff and... More

We went to this restaurant in a party of 7. A soon as we seated, there was an accident and I had some wine spilt on me. The waiter promptly asked if I want something to try to help it not to stain, and I said yes. Thing is he never came back. We would try to signal to the... More

El Patacon was recommended to us for its lamb and our hotel gave us a 15% off coupon. The welcome was really odd and off-putting; even though the restaurant was 3/4 empty and all tables were set, we were given a complementary welcome drink (mystery alcohol) and made to wait in a room that seemed to be primarily a gift... Our hotel recommended this restaurant. I can see it's charm and how you could have an amazing experience here. However, our experience didn't live up to its reputation nor potential. Our service was very rushed and unhelpful. The waiter's lack of English and our lack of Spanish made things harder. Meals were plentiful but our lamb was overcooked and had... More

One of the more expensive meals we had in Argentina. The setting is great, lovely wooden building, welcome drink on arrival and very attentive staff. Meals are better than average but not outstanding. Best were the lamb ribs. Meals are huge.

Welcome drink upon arrival. The entire restaurant made of wood. Large variety of barbecued meets, smoked fish and other fish and entrees. Wine list filled with local wines at insanely reasonable prices. Great experience. Highly recommend.

We ate here three times during our visit to Bariloche. The menu is varied and the food was excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

This restaurant was located right across the street from our hotel and it could not have been more convenient. We had the Smoked Trout which was okay and also had their Asado, but what stood out the most was their empanadas. They were the best I've had during my 2 weeks in Argentina, A good second best would be the ones... More

We really enjoyed our dinner here (Trucha and lomo) with our waiter's excellent wine recommendation. From the outside, it looks very pretty (little lights) and the inside interior is very typical (Gaucho style, chimneys, ...). The service was very attentive and friendly. It's great to come here as a couple with a window seat or even in bigger groups, they... More

We ended up spending about 1000 pesos, on a light lunch for 2. Wine is reasonably priced too. Nice women architecture, and lake view from the window.
