Although the empanadas were pretty good the competing ladies welcome (fight over) you as you enter. Its all quite amusing to watch as each new customer arrives. I don't think we will go back as there are many good places for empanadas without the drama.

Authentic place, more locals than tourists (:)); tasty empanadas for a very affordable price. Very good value for money. Excellent place for a quick lunch- discovering a Salta specialty.

We visited this place after discovering it on Trip Advisor, and ended up going 3 times during our stay in Salta. As some people have said, i expected you could go to each vendor and try an empanada here, one there etc, however you choose...More

I have read rave reviews about this place, so probably my expectations were too high. It is a an open-air 'food court", served by small 'empanada shops". When I was there (lunch time on a Thursday) only two shops were open. Empanadas were good, but...More

We were sold it that you could go around and try them all. This isn’t really true as you need to commit to one as you sit at a table. We ordered a small first round to test them out then ordered a bunch more...More

A largish courtyard bordered by a bunch of little empanada/tamale shops. Busy with locals apparently on their lunch break and ready for an inexpensive tasty meal. I only wish I'd had a local with me to help choose the best vendor. As it was, I...More

It is important to know that you will not find the Buenos Aires empanadas: The size of the pie is traditionally small, very tasty, filled with, beef, beef jerky, chicken, tripe and more. Prices are low, so if you're worried about the size of the...More

Somehow the empanadas I tried in other South American countries were a lot bigger than Argentinean ones. The location is a bit far from central and in a small space there are like 7 or 8 stores selling empanadas. I didn't check the price of...More

This isn't a single restaurant, it's a large terrace, or patio, surrounded by kiosks, each selling their own versions of empanadas, tamales, and humitas. Your main task is really just to decide whose section you're going to sit in, as, as soon as you start...More

I found it a little overwhelming to be dragged around by the waiters as soon as I stepped in, so be prepared for it. I tried the empanadas in three different spots. By far the best ones were the first two places to the left....More
