Great local food. We loved the stews ( lentil, chickpea) which were a nice change from all the meat. The empanadas were also excellent. Don't be put off by the rather goofy touristic atmosphere. There were plenty of locals.

Hmmmm.......I have to wonder what we missed. Ate dinner there when it opened at 8 and it was nothing more than an average experience. My lentil soup was good but as salty as something canned. (I'm sure it was homemade and perhaps authentic but still...) my wife had flank steak which reportedly had some off flavor and the gaucho clothing... More

I thought I would try a regional entre, the Locro which is made up of beans veal and pork in a white sauce. It's basically a stew with not a lot of flavor. I had the some empenadas which were good but definitely not the best. The restaurant itself is charming with its old brick walls and beamed ceilings but... More

Expected much, experienced less. The menu was and is for Argentinian measures too small! We even had to return our biefe d'oyo because it was not medium cooked. (Had to wait 20 minutes afterwards before I got my meal) The waiters have to serve too much tables in order too pay the attention to the customers that they deserves. Plus... More

We liked it so much we went twice and sampled a wide range of local specialties including what is reported to be some of the best empanadas in Argentina. Our waiter was friendly with a great sense of humor (when we asked for ice, he asked if we wanted it cold). The house malbec was quite good and great value.

We came on this restaurant when wandering round Salta during the day, and returned for dinner in the evening. Waiters are dressed gaucho-style. The steak was good. Some lovely art work. It is a really big restaurant, and very busy. It has a little courtyard which was lovely, but not part of the main area.

Not sure what all the hype is about at this place. The waiters were kinda rude and unattentive, the prices are kinda high and the food left me ill for 3 days. I would stay away from this place.

Restaurant located in a very old and beautiful house, serving very good typical food, very popular with tourists, good attention, although there are better restaurants (but more expensive).

At here on our first night based on TA reviews, most probably one of the older restaurants in Salta, a delightful old building with the waiters dressed as gauchos, an incredibly popular place with everyone and worth a visit, although something's can be lost in translation, bife de chorizo was very good flank steak not good unfortunately, good chips overall... Real tasty and traditional food! Waiter are dressed like gauchos and they are very kind. Empanadas, Locro and parrillada are the most recomenddable.
