Elegant and historic place, but serves low quality food. Most of the food the waiter recommended to me was garbage-style hot pot, sort of leftovers mix. Miserable wine (Estancia Mendoza) just better stay away from it.

This was the best place to eat in Salta. Went there twice in my short stay, excellent food, excellent service, gets you the local feeling and the ambience is great too. highly recommend.

I'm not complaining about the food: it was good and tasteful. The bill was so expensive, though! After all we had ordered exactly the same food that can be ordered everywhere else in the Northern provinces of Argentina... So why spending more? We had empanadas and something with chicken at Doña Salta; next day we bought empanadas once again in... More

Our hotel recommended dining at Dona Salta our first day in Salta, and it was the only disappointment we had in the city. The place is 90% tourists, overpriced, bad and inattentive service and the food was just ok besides the empanadas. Would recommend going to other restaurants like La Criollita if you want typical regional food.

Waiters in Gaucho outfits, traditional Argentine specialties (empanadas, pasta, milenesas, and of course parillada), who could ask for more? I am not a big steak fan, but I really enjoyed the beef here, which was excellently cooked. The charqui empanada was recommended, so I tried that as well, and found it delicious.

We went there and had a great time. The food was excellent and so was the service and decor. We ended up eating there every night. They had the best LOCRO, and tamales. The lentil soup was very hardy and tasty, The empanadas were also delicious definitely go there.

We enjoyed our lunch of empanadas, carbonada (a sort of stew) and turron salteno for dessert. The only disappointment was a humita that was served tepid and was not at all tasty. The decoration is interesting and the waiters dress like gauchos, adding a little local color to your meal.

Nothing special. Food is so-so. Faster service than the slow serving restaurants. Rustic. Full of people. Busy. I was not impressed.

You can find empanadas, locro, tamales, humita, it's the traditional food that you'll taste if you travel to Salta. They have a large variety of traditional food. The waiter Miguel is very kind. You don't go without taste the famous turron Salteño, a delicious dessert.

We came in as a group of 9 teenage students and two adults chaperones (without reservations!), and we were seated right away and well taken care of. Great service, and excellent food. I'd recommend the tamales and locro. Local specialities and delicious!
