In this place you'd like to enjoy delicious traditional food and listen folk music. This restaurant is a large house divide in small rooms. In each room, you could find people that play the guitar and sing tipical zone folk.

I like locro, a stew/soup of meat, beans, corn, tomatoes, and spices. It is a northern Argentine dish, and I wanted to eat it one more time. So I ordered it. I received a bowl of bones, with some liquid, and a few beans and kernels of corn. I was on the patio, in the dark, so negotiating this was... More

The restaurant is charming, filled with locals, service and wine great. But food was bad on so many levels: we had parillada for 2- poor quality meat, overcooked, tasteless. I ordered beef steak medium rare, it was medium well at best and served on hot coals. I removed it directly to a cold plate, let rest, but it was dry... More

Great folk environment in a very old typical house and very good local food. You can have good meat, empanadas, tamales and humitas.

I was backpacking with friends through Argentina and a tourist guide recommended us La Casona del Molino. We were very well attended by the waiters and ordered el vino de la casa, which was perfect!!! Suddenly a guy started playing violin in the other room, it was amazing! We realized that it was a place for people to perform, and... More

A truly local, charming old house with multiple rooms. It also had two large outdoor patios for eating under the stars. The music was traditional and fun. The food was authentic to Salta and very good. It was outside the center of town and not a walkable distance.

A courtyard setting with a big open BBQ going on - add to that sublime steaks (the best and cheapest I had in Argentina), good value red wine, simple service - and then add again the casual atmosphere with music being played from the locals from just where they were having dinner amongst us. Bliss. A unique and satisfying experience... More

My mother is Argentine, so I grew up with folk songs and lore from the region. When we got to La Casona, we were greeted by a gentleman playing a guitar and singing all the familiar tunes, selling CDs. He was obviously hired to be there, but sang beautifully, and even broke into a birthday song for me when the... More
