We were here just for a beer, although you could have a nice dinner here as well. It is a pretty large place with different rooms and open air patios. In almost every room were men playing guitar and singing Argentinian songs. It was a fun experience! On sunday night the place was quite crowded and we had to wait... More

La Casona is a restaurant/peña in Salta. There is not a show like in other peñas like Vieja Estación, but there are many people playing music and singing folkloric music throughout the huge house. The ambiance is very lively with mainly locals eating, drinking and having a fun time.

Quite a delicious spot to eat asado. I shared the parillada for two with a friend. It wasn´t an overwhelming amount of food, but definitely filled us. For the quality and quantity of food we ate, it was definitely worth the price. For the two of us to eat asado with a liter of soda cost around ARG$350. There is... More

This restaurant is over rated. I was told that the restaurant did not take reservations and that I needed to be there early to get a table. My husband and I were there 20 minutes before 9pm and along with other people stood in line in the cold weather. At 9pm when it was time to let us in, someone... More

When you arrive, it looks like an old house, but in each room and the patio you will find real folk singers and guitarists that play spontaneously. very good empanadas and Guaschalocro, few but good wines at good price, be ready to stay till late at night. Not a show for traditional bus tourists.

In this place you'd like to enjoy delicious traditional food and listen folk music. This restaurant is a large house divide in small rooms. In each room, you could find people that play the guitar and sing tipical zone folk.

I like locro, a stew/soup of meat, beans, corn, tomatoes, and spices. It is a northern Argentine dish, and I wanted to eat it one more time. So I ordered it. I received a bowl of bones, with some liquid, and a few beans and kernels of corn. I was on the patio, in the dark, so negotiating this was... More

The restaurant is charming, filled with locals, service and wine great. But food was bad on so many levels: we had parillada for 2- poor quality meat, overcooked, tasteless. I ordered beef steak medium rare, it was medium well at best and served on hot coals. I removed it directly to a cold plate, let rest, but it was dry... More

Great folk environment in a very old typical house and very good local food. You can have good meat, empanadas, tamales and humitas.
