This was hands down the best meal I had in Mendoza, possibly of all of Argentina. The service was exceptional and the food was phenomenal. The Chateaubriond was one of the best steaks I have had in my life and the goat in pastry was so amazing--very flavorful, juicy, and the pastry was delicious. I keep thinking about the barley... Staff was great and did their best to help us with food and wine choice. This made us feel much better as the food was not bad but quite average. More a mid range restaurant rather than fine dining one.

This place is a hidden Gem. The place is very well decorated, the personnel are friendly but... the food is just superb and mindblowing. They take their dishes and elevate it into modern cuisine which is a great surprise! We came here on a recommendation, but went completly suprised to the high quality food thats being served here. The place... More

Azafran never disappoints me. After 4 days in Buenos Aires where I ate meat, meat and more meat, I went to Mendoza. This restaurant has great service and an more haut cuisine type of menu. It isn't pretentious, but casual and they have a great sommelier and tasting menu for their wine. I wouldn't go back to Mendoza without dining... More

Our dinner at Azafran was magical and a welcome tonic after our 8-hour bus ride from Santiago to Mendoza! As a group, we were able to reserve their cellar room - the ultimate ambiance, surrounded by wine! Ponchos were provided, to fend off any chills and the lazy-Susan glass table top made sharing easy. The amuse bouche, featuring dry ice... More

We had steak with blue cheese and it was the best thing we ate in Argentina. But it's the extra bits and surprises that make it outstanding: the complementary glass of fizz and the amuse-bouche; the excellence of the homemade bread; the quality produce on the shelves (worth sitting inside even on a nice evening because there's stuff to look... Except for the people waiting on tables and the cozy wine cellar, dishes are run-of-the-mill, rations are meagre, and artificially inflated prices... Warning! foreign visitors are a frequent soft target.

Delicious food, excellent service and sommelier, stunning decor, highly recommended. Had a lovely lunch with empanadas and pork tenderloin. Yum

This restaurant is great. It's quite small but has a good atmosphere and is traditional. Along the walls are shelves of local produce such as olive oils and balsamic vinegars that are available to buy. At the front of the restaurant is a room full of wine (I believe you can do tastings in there). If you want wine with... More
