Absolutely brilliant. A wonderful dining experience that I’ll never forget. Modern cuisine, in the style of famous chef Ferrán Adriá. Worth going. And kudos to the wine cave they have. A very well put wine list.
We had the most amazing experience in El Papagayo, one that we will never forget. It came highly recommended to us and so we knew we wanted to visit, however it exceeded all of our expectations. The staff were extremely accommodating considering we hadn’t made...a reservation in advance. The service, presentation and quality of food was all of the highest standard, a standard you would expect from a Michelin star restaurant, yet the prices are very reasonable. As the owner said himself “hospitality is an act of generosity” which is extremely evident whilst dining here. Thank you to the staff, this restaurant experience is probably the main thing we will remember from our trip to CórdobaMore
By far, the best restaurant experience we have had in Cordoba! We have dined over the last few years at some of the more renowned restaurants in the city. El Papagayo truly merits it's ranking as numero uno!
The 8 course tasting plates were like...little pieces of theatre. Unexpected taste surprises coupled with understated but elegant presentation received consistent rave reviews from my wife and me. The staff was outstanding. The servers and sommeliers were attentive without being intrusive. Knowlegeable, skilled and very personable, they truly reinforced the wonderful evening we had in their restaurant. We truly got the sense that they took pride and ownership in the product presented. Not once did they approach us with the ubiquitous," How's everything tasting?" or the more annoying command to "Enjoy". They knew they had a winner so enough said. Our main server was Rajo, literally translated meaning thunder. And he with the front of house staff and the masters in the kitchen truly deserve "thunderous" applause.
Like any good theatre, one can't reveal the culinary surprises by spoiling the plot. Just prepare to be astonished. The final touch was their handing us a bottle of champagne as we waited for our cab home! To paraphrase Arnold Schwartznegger, "We'll be back!"
Mucho gracuas Papagayo - A Standing Ovation!More
Reservations for four for lunch, made months in advance, proved fortuitous. We had three course lunch. Not a morsel left on any of our plates. If the pumpkin purée dessert with espresso remains on menu, I 100% recommend it.
Truly, everything was perfect. Our server...never missed a beat. Five minute power outage occurred during our visit, but chefs seemed to not miss a beat, here, either! I suspect they have adapted to the occurrence. All food was served at perfect temperature, whether it was a cold plate, or the entree.
Go to El Papagayo. If we return to Córdoba, we will return. Kudos!More
Our tour guide and the staff at our hotel all recommended we try this restaurant during our four days in Cordoba. They were right: it is excellent, possibly the best in the city. There is a choice between the 8 course degustation menu or the...11 course. We went twice (two days apart) and each time had the 11 course choice. The venus is very cool, a long corridor of a room, with generous seating for about 20 patrons; you need to book. The staff and service were professional and friendly (and spoke excellent English). The food was innovative and universally delicious, even with a couple of repeat dishes on our second visit; the menu largely changes every day. They offer matched wines or an extensive wine list. We chose an excellent Garzon Tannat Reserva 2018 from Uruguay and a half bottle of Terrazas Petit Manseng 2016 desert wine from Mendoza, both excellent and both new grape varieties for we Australians. Highly recommended.More
We made a spur of the moment decision to visit Cordoba for the weekend and we were unable to secure a reservation for dinner (now we know why!) so we went ofr lunch instead. The three of us chose the 8 course Chef's tasting menu...and WOW! We were blown away. Each course was delightfully presented, perfectly delicious, and creative. The wine selection was exceptional with a wide variety of options for all tastes. The service was excellent and the staff were eager to practice their English-speaking skills with us, of which we were happy to oblige. I've shared some of the photos of our meal, but forgot to get pictures of everything. Needless to say, the meal was amazing.More
I started by ordering only a couple of courses, but after only a couple, I opted to try all courses.
The flavors this chef creates are unique and remarkable.
This restaurant could excel in any world city, in my opinion.
