I know the place since 1999. It was a small place only known by local people. Tasted the best fish I ever had in my life and adopted the place as my favorite not only in Mar del Plata but also in all Buenos Aires. Now in a bigger place but with the same amazing service you can pick whatever... More

Viento en Popa is a true gem of Mar del Plata. One would think that a port city would have plenty of choices when it comes to good fish restaurants, but you will be unpleasantly surprised. I would not recommend any of the touristic restos that are in the port. Luckily, Viento en Popa exists to offer great fish, cooked... More

It was a Sunday lunch in winter in Mar del Plata, Argentina, very low tourist season. The restaurant was very busy, well organized and attended by locals. My husband and I shared a seafood salad and a half bottle of white wine. VERY FRESH seafood on a bed of lettuce, nice variety,, olive oil and real lemon on the side... More

Our last visit was in 2011 and I had left disappointed. We decided to give it another go and Im happy to report that things have improved. The Kitchen is delivering dishes with more balanced seasoning and staff appears to have been trained and new hands hired. Wine list is also quite improved from last visit, with some waiters receiving... More

Delicious restaurant by the port. Seafood was very fresh tasting. Service was prompt. Price was $$$. Free bread basket with a squid/onion spread and fish. Ordered fried calamari and the paella. Dining was family style with long tables.

The best fish I've ever ate in my life I had it there. It's not a big place, actually I was very lucky to book a place there, and I can understand why ... The best fish in the Argentinian Coast

This restaurant is located near the Mar del Plata port area, do not expect a nice view, but barracks. Had reservation booked and arrived eraly, so had no problem with access; however, if you do not book in advance be ready for long wait standing in a area prepared for that. Ordered langostinos en camisa as apetizer, extremely good choice,... More

Good food, good fish always fresh. The menu has no explanation , you need help to know what is each plate. The place is full of people, and very noisy. The service is not so good.
