So we've just left here after what seemed to be an average meal at best with great service. On paying, my partner noticed something on the bill that turned out to be a charge...wait for it...for the cutlery. This restaurant, through no fault of the staff, but the owner himself, includes an additional charge on your bill for using a... More

The look and atmosphere of this place was great. The location was good too - right at the end of the weekend market stalls. We went here for lunch. We ordered the nachos to start with. The chips and dips were cold and tasted horrible. The sauces, served in individual little bowls, including the cheese and guacomole, were obviously straight... More

The waitress smiled as we arrived, then it went downhill from there. The waiter was surly and told us there were no pizzas, despite people eating them at other tables. They went on to serve locals who arrived after us. We waited 45 minutes for our meals! It was an upsetting experience on our second day in BA. El Federal,... More

I would echo most of the other comments. Really enjoyed my meal here. The service was really quite good considering it was Sunday market day and the place was packed. The food took a few minutes to emerge but the bread and beer were instantaneous. You couldn't ask for a better ambiance; very old in the charming way. The menu... More

We only stopped here for a couple of drinks, I just loved the place for its atmosphere. The black and white tiles and the high ceilings give it an air of very old school Buenos Aires bar. They do have a cocktail menu that looked interesting but when we visited the barman hadn't showed up so no one else knew... More

A typical old bar in the centre of the city, with good service, excellent picadas, and good location in Defensa Street. IdeAl for a Sunday when the market is at its peak. They take credit cards.

We went in here twice in the afternoon on a weekday. We loved the quirky old decor, and the fact that it was full of locals. You can stay as long as you like when it's quiet like this, and it is a great place to people watch out of the window. The waitresses were lovely both times. We ate... More

Situated in San Telmo, straight by the Sunday market, this café has soul. It is a charming place, has a varied menu with reasonable prices and wifi. The staff was friendly and effective.
