I went to the restaurant based on TA rankings. It's not that good (in fact, it's bad). I ordered Sole, and I got a completely different kind of fish; it was supposed to be done in a blue cheese sauce; it was fried (in batter). Not good. The "Milanesas" were normal. It's normal food you find everywhere in Argentina. Nothing... More

Many locals dine here on great home cooking. My favorite is the Suprema Napolitana, a huge chicken breast with cheese and ham.

We were four people on Valentines Day - going for what we expected would be a great meal. Unfortunatly it fell through. We ordered paella, which was soggy and bit boring - not tasty and chunky, but just plain tasteless. Hubby had meat which was ok, but nothing compared to parrillas aroung town. Atmosphere is really comfy and cozy, and... More

If you want an unpretentious, comforting meal in a relaxed environment, this is the place. Our favourites are the bean dishes: Lentejas & Fabada Asturiana; both hearty winter meals. If the dish is too big for you, they will package the leftovers for you to take home. It pays to get there early - this place is very popular with... More

A classical place for a snack at noon, typical kitchen from Buenos Aires, what exactly Argentineans eat. A lot of Spanish flavors, since they were the original owners of most restaurants. More recommendable the entrance by the corner, a smaller place, looks like a pub rather than a restaurant. Typical dishes: churrasco, fish & smashed, tortilla. Whatever you order is... More

For the last days I have been wanting to drink a Cynnar and I finally found it at el Preferido this place retains its original charm great for a drink and some appetizers we had lengua tong in brine and it was delicious if you like that kind of thing. The menu is quiet extensive and they have many apperitifs... More

I had the pleasure of being taken to this restaurant for dinner and it was delicious! This bowl of mixed seafood was great and the service was impeccable! If you can afford it go there!

It's close to Palermo Soho, which is a very modern place, this restaurant seems to have stopped in time in the 1920's. The food is good, not memorable. Price is very good.

El Preferendo is both a restaurant for locals and an old style Italian grocer. At night they set up more stools and tables in the grocery area. Popular with locals because it is about food to enjoy, some wine conversation and, maybe, a bit of music.

I don't normally like writing bad reviews - but I guess it was just our experience and that's all I can share. We weren't overwhelmed with this place. We prob got there too early to be any kind of atmosphere but even still in the restaurant part you wouldn't expect bright white lights with the soccer (futbol) on the tv... More

Neighborhood Profile
Palermo
Best known as the largest neighborhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favorite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
