Went here on two occasions with friends while visiting BA. The decor is very cool and the staff are super friendly. It's not that fancy but the food is incredible, they do steak so well. A great wine menu also and the cocktails are excellent. Well worth a visit.

My partner and I felt in love with Dada in our first visit. On the night after we went back - I said we did enjoy it . From the outside you'll never say how nice it is. Very busy with awesome music, everyone is very welcome. As a gay couple we felt very comfortable in our both visits. They... More

When the waiter, who was very personable and friendly, told us they did not have a menu in English, we knew Dada's was not just for tourists. Which suits my wife and I just fine. Between my limited Spanish and the waiter, we were able to order a very good meal. I had the steak medallions topped with pate in... More

We stumbled on this place by luck on our first night in Buenos Aires and had read a good review in lonely planet and I am glad we chose it. Great atmosphere and full of locals, by no means a tourist trap. Advisable to book a table as it is always full and a line formed outside while we were... More

Cool place - interesting vibe.. Food was VERY slow to arrive, but, once it did, it was quite tasty (I had the salmon). Price was reasonable Service (waiter) was solid.

I REALLY like this place! Just a few blocks from my hotel and have walked by dozens of times spanning my many trips here. Finally took the plunge as I needed a night off from steak. Ha ha. I wasn't particularly hungry so ordered a martini, a glass of Malbec and the shrimp risotto. My dry Kettle One martini somehow... More

This is a full-on meat extravaganza. (I'm sure they must have some dishes for vegetarians, but it's a meat-eaters paradise. It's small and fills up early, although we did get in without reservations. The service was excellent and attentive. I recommend the Ono de bife or the lomo. Rich and delicious!

The staff kept telling us the food would just be a few more minutes and we ended up waiting over an hour. When the food arrived, my wife's fish was still raw and half my steak was bloody.

We visited here one afternoon as it was a few minutes walk from our hotel. On first impressions the bar looked great. We sat at the bar and ordered 2 Martinis - we opted for Hendricks gin which we confirmed had ARS50 premium on the standard option. Feeling a little peckish we also decided to order hummus to share and... More

Staying in Retiro

Neighborhood Profile
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighborhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
