The steak and the fat French fries were really good. We never got the salad we ordered. DO NOT go between 6 and 7 because the help is eating outside and the service is non existent. We poured our own wine, he never asked if everything was ok. We had to ask for the check. I have had better experiences.... More

We were heading to a different restaurant, but open the door of El Mirasol and didn't regret it. We already experienced quite a few of restaurants serving meat in Argentina, some better, some worse. El Mirasol knows its beef and cooks it expertly to a perfection. Our company consisted of 2 couples and we ordered filet mignon and a ribeye... More

Service was excellent. The food was very good with a great presentation. We started with a salad to share....endive, radicchio & Parmesan cheese, beautiful! Followed by a tenderloin tip & a ribeye steak. Both prepared to our liking. Portion sizes are large so we did not have any sides. Good selection of wines that seemed to be reasonably priced. Atmosphere... More

The steak was excellent as was the wine we selected. However some of the side dishes were not that impressive - I found the steamed vegetables disappointing and lacking in flavour. In addition the Provençal potatoes did not actually reflect the English description on the menu but that may well be down to our failure to communicate effectively with our... More

Although El Mirasol is pricey, the quality cannot be better. The lomo tenderloin tip is outstanding. Also, I love their salad "El Mirasol" which contains heart of palm, avacado, walnuts and apples. Expensive but worth it! Since it is open from lunch thru dinner, you can eat dinner early at El Mirasol.

This is a nice restaurant with linens that is near the Four Seasons Hotel, serving beautiful steaks and possessing a wonderful wine list. The service was very courteous and the maitre d' was very accommodating.

We went to El Mirasol on the recommendation of a friend who is a local. We enjoyed a wonderful meal in an elegant setting. The service was the best we had in Buenos Aires. These are professional servers that know what they're doing. The wine presentation was superb. The skirt steak, the ribs, and the sirloin were excellent. A salad... More

The portions are big, so feel free to share with each other. We got 1 order of grilled vegetables, and it was a platter. And they were awesome!! The steaks were good (we had filet and Kobe Ribeye), and the empanadas were to-die-for. Caesar salad for one fed two. The waiter was excellent - good wine recommendation, and very attentive.... A nice Parilla near Recoleta. Service was excellent. Ricardo, our waiter, was top class. The steak was good. The wine was excellent (the wine list is good as well). The portions are huge (sides are designed for 4-6 people, beware! We left a lot of food). Courses come perhaps a little fast. This is ideal for families and tourists who... More

Staying in Retiro

Neighborhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighborhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
