We stumbled upon this restaurant on our way to the museum of Latin American art. It looked very inviting and they had outdoor seating, so bingo!! Our server was great; very patient with our orders as it was an extensive menu. We had a ham...and cheese croissant with melted cheese, an egg/black olive/tomato/egg (hard boiled) cheese sandwich, and a quiche with greens vegetables (chard). Another party member had a dessert with raspberries on top. All our selections were excellent. My husband tried a cold tea/rum drink which he said he would pass on in the future, but it was an experience. Right around the corner was a worker sharpening knives (likely for the restaurant we were at) using the power of his bicycle and a grinding stone. Fascinating! When done, he rolls on down to another restaurant. So, we had entertainment, too, plus dog walker and people watching.More

Lunch great. Two shared the steak sandwich with local beer and fries. Best. Would go back if I lived there.

Authentic local restaurant and bar. We had a great steak sandwich with a beer and a really nice glass of rose. The atmosphere was friendly and local.

Stopped by for lunch after wandering the recoleta cemetery and the vendors in the park. Was able to snag an outside table in a nice day. They had an extensive menu, but as many reviews have said the steak sandwich is sort of a local...star. It was a fabulous sandwich as you would expect. And we were very happy with the meal. Too full after that sandwich to even ask for a desert menu. I think the total came to around $30 usd, which seemed to be reasonable for this level of meal.More

Around the corner from our hotel (Ulises Recoleta Suites), it was a great place for lunch. Tables both inside and out, staff was friendly and helpful. Had the Lomo Combinado and it was delectable. Could eat there every meal.

Just a few minutes walking from Melia Recoleta Hotel. Take your time, order some cofee and some pies and enjoy a very cozy and nice place.

Right down the street from our hotel, La Rambla was a wonderful find! We shared a lomito sandwhich (I hope my spelling is correct), which with a side dish of peppers in vinegar was enough. As in most places in BA, the prices are astonishingly...low. Here, the quality is even more noticeable. This is a place NOT TO MISS.More

As this place was close to our hotel, we visited a lot. Make sure you get a table outside so you can watch the world pass by. The ham and cheese toast was very good for breakfast. The chicken and steak sandwiches are good but...the chicken breast is not flattened so it a bit hard to bite into.More

I stayed at a hotel around the corner, in the upscale (and often up price) Recoleta neighbourhood. During that time, I had the opportunity to visit La Rambla twice, both times in groups - one group being rather large over a Sunday lunch. In each...case, service was prompt and pleasant and the server made an effort to speak to people in English as required. I would describe the place as cosy, and very casual. Lots of wood, including a staircase leading to a second floor balcony with a few tables. The outside café is lovely, and well populated by locals. The café is equipped with televisions for sports afficianados and I have no doubt they would try to accommodate if you wanted to watch a particular game or event, particularly if it was futbol. While the wine selection is not extensive, it's decent and well priced, although this is frankly more of a beer and coffee place. I ate there twice, and can say that both groups I went with generally were happy with their food, and the price. We had a selection, between the two groups, ranging from salads, to sandwiches, to steak, to the house special skillets (fajitas, but not the American kind) which include meat, vegetables and potatoes. The one caveat is a friend of mine who is vegetarian had difficulty finding anything to eat on the menu. For the price and service, you really can't beat la Rambla.More
