Was told by the flight attendant I should not leave without trying their candy. Glad I went. The shop sells all sorts of candy that has the dulce de leche inside. You can buy the individual ones but they sell all sizes. Go inside and you can order a cup of coffee. Staff was friendly.

There are Havanna buildings spread all over the city. The cafés are simple, but the products are worldwide famous. Don't miss eating their alfajores, which are great for a dessert and even better to give as a gift to friends and family.

We stopped in at the location by the old port. Everyone told us to go here for the Alfajores. We had never had one before and found a new favorite desert!

Nice place to visit in the morning for a solo café. The chocolates are very good as well. Friendly staff with outdoor seating to enjoy your morning café.

We stop by for tea and sandwich make great pan de miga cheese and ham hot sandwich. I am addicted to there smoothies even in Spring. This time my husband had the chocolate one. We buy our gift supply of Alfajores to bring back as gifts. I always sample one. They give you chocolate cookies and mineral water with order.

October 21st - 2015 - Havanna is the Argentinian answer to Starbucks invasion attempt, and it does beat the US chain by several points, which is also confirmed by the fact that Starbucks offers here a much wider selection of products in the attempt to keep up with Havanna's wide variety of pastries, chocolates and other goods apart from its... Coffee on every corner but this is the best chain in town, guaranteed to satisfy a craving for a good quality cup of Joe. Especially like the Uruguay at Viamonte location near the courts.

Staying in San Nicolas

Neighborhood Profile
San Nicolas
Immersed in the sound of honking horns and the footsteps of busy office workers, the Microcentro area of San Nicolás is where visitors will encounter the true hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires, walking down streets lined with office buildings and banks. The financial district is well-known for its vibrant atmosphere and unstoppable rhythm during office hours. After dark, the hubbub migrates to Corrientes Ave., where theater lovers might start their evening at a play and end it in one of the many traditional pizzerias nearby. During the day, Corrientes is known for its many bookshops and classic cafés, which are located just minutes away from some famous landmarks, like the Obelisco, Avenida 9 de Julio, and the Teatro Colon.
