Excellent Special Dinner

We selected this restaurant because it was near our hotel in Recoleta and also on TripAdvisor reviews. We were not disappointed. However, we found it amusing that 90% of the patrons at our dining time were Americans who, obviously, had also read TripAdvisor reviews. Americans eat early. That does... read more

Friends recommended us to try this restaurant for authentic Argentinian cuisine. It is a lively, comfortable place and the staff were helpful, efficient and amusing. We made the mistake of ordering 4 starters for 4 people and were served with enough food for main courses and it was all rather bland and forgettable. For main courses we all ordered steaks... More

The places is nice decorated, located in Recoleta, near the bests hotels in Buenos Aires. To my surprised when I was being sit, Spanish was the one missing language you can hear. It is full of foreigners, enjoying a "real deal" Argentinean grill. Decoration: 7/10 Service: 8/10 Food offer / Menu: 10/10 Food quality: 9/10 Price: 4/10 ( means expensive,... More

An old fashioned in a good way. Everything reminds you of the last century since from the decoration of the restaurant and the way the waiters are dressed! The food is very good and we chose to eat seafood. The traditional Parrillada Argentina but instead of meat made with seafood was really good. Worth visiting it

Went by recommendation of our Hotel. We didn't want beef this night but it clearly is a steak house. They list about 10 different type of fish choices on the menu but only 3 choices were offered this night. We ordered swordfish but it was served late and over cooked. Pasta and salad were ok. Very busy and pricy. Great... More

Maybe I’m living in a parallel universe… Some of the reviews on this site are completely at odds with our experience. I would suggest the overall visitor rating is closer to reality! We visited BA recently while touring South America and I selected this parrilla partly for its proximity to our hotel. On arrival we were shown to a table... More

We had a very nice meal tonight. Our hotel front desk recommend it and it was spot on for our first night in BA. My steak was melt-in-your mouth delicious. I saw reviews of people complaining about being charged for the water... Bottled water is not free in the US, so not sure why it would be be here? Also,... More

This place came very highly recommended and our 5 Star Alvear Palace Hotel made our reservation. Some of these other reviews are commenting on the "great" and "chic" atmosphere and this place has NONE of that. It's a VERY less than average tourist rip off. They charge a "cubrieto" or "table charge" of $51AR each, and they also charge for... More

After reading the rating of this restaurant and the proximity of it to our Hotel in Buenos Aires we decided upon Fervor. Upon arriving it seemed like it was going to be a good choice. I ordered a Grey Goose vodka martini...it arrived, very cloudy and with a terrible putrid rancid taste, like something fermented or soured in it? I... More

Staying in Recoleta

Neighborhood Profile
Recoleta
Characterized by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighborhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centered on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
