We were very much looking forward to trying kosher Argentine beef. What we got was overcooked, thinly cut and not very tasty at all. We probably should have sent our entrees back as I noticed at least one other diner doing so. Based on our...experience at El Paisano and some other restaurants in Argentina, you have to be more aggressive as it's more likely that something will come out of the kitchen that is "off." In fairness to the restaurant, there were quite a lot of happy diners there, principally locals, so it may be that their other offerings are better. But our steaks were a serious disappointment.More
El Paisano would get an incomplete, but since that isn't available, I have to give it a 1. Why? My wife and I went to the restaurant at 2pm for lunch. The restaurant was supposed to be open 12-4 according to the website for local...restaurants. We rang the bell. No answer. The restaurant is behind an unmarked metal door, part of a Chabad complex. We thought we saw some activity, but several rings later, there was still no response. We left and went to Al Galope instead. If the restaurant would respond by saying that it doesn't control a website that isn't its own, that is not realistic in 2019. You have a responsibility in today's social media world to see what is out there about your establishment. If the hours are not what you want, you have to correct that before tourists make a special trip to your restaurant. Also, tourists such as ourselves don't have local phone service to call the restaurant to check on their hours.More
One of the best kosher restaurants on the planet let alone in Buenos Aires. Expensive by Argentines or Australian standards. Be careful though, there is no sign out front to tell you that the restaurant is inside.
My husband and I went here for my birthday, and we had a wonderful time. The servers were friendly and we enjoyed talking with them. The food was delicious, every course. We arrived at Saturday night opening and the lovely, well-decorated but relaxing room filled...up quickly. We had made a reservation ahead of time, and that's probably a good idea. The address is easy to see; just press the doorbell near the gate.More
Highly recommended. Delicious steak and brisket and huge portions! Chips were also delicious. Never had better tasting meat :)
Delicious kosher tender and flavorful meat, great service, swings for the kids outside. Totally recommend.
Throughout many years of traveling, we have been to many Parillas. We LOVE this place and have been here two times already within the week. Delicious variety of well-prepared meat, great service, selection of wine, in a highly cozy and comforting atmosphere. If you are...in Buenos Aires this place is a must :-)More
This place is in the best neighborhood in Buenos Aires, and is lovely and has a cool, hipster vibe - surprising for a restaurant operated by a local Chabad. There is no sign outside and it's on a residential street, so that adds to the...feeling of being in on a secret as if it's just for people in the know, but really it funds the important work done by the Chabad chapter. I highly recommend the castillar - the most tasty and juicy cut of steak I've had in over 23 years of visiting Argentina.More
@elpaisano is stunning. Other than having the best meat, the atmosphere is great, full of life and joy. Also, the large deserts are probably the best I’ve ever tried in my life. Don’t you there miss ordering a costillar. You won’t regret it.
