This is an old traditional restaurant. There is nothing special about it, but the prices are reasonable and food is good.

In former days a truly German restaurant in BA city centre, where I became acquainted and enjoyed many a delicious meal. Years have gone by, lack of lustre shows, owners seem to have changed, and the food, to my taste, has lost its Teutonic delights. Prices, as well, have increased to a point where they quite surpass the quality of... More

This restaurant hasn't changed at all in the last 40 years. Here you find very traditional dishes. The food is tasty but on the heavy side.

Stopped in for lunch and was slightly disappointed with the quality to price ratio. Food arrived quickly, was hot and filling, however it was not the quality we had hoped for at such an establishment. Also we were charged a 36 peso service fee for basic table service...which is not normal from what I've heard or experienced.

Found by accident 15 years ago. Just as good today. You will have to visit German to replicate the food experience

We noticed this restaurant while strolling on pedestrianized Lavalle and thought this might be a change from empanadas and steaks, so we tried to get there on a Saturday evening - but they were not open. In a Trip Advisor posting I read that they are only open for lunch, so we tried the next day for lunch, but it... More

It is hard to believe that this restaurant is located on such a busy pedestrian street. It is quiet, with good service and good food. German food, as well as beef, fish, etc. reportedly in business since 1929. Note that signs in the restaurant indicate it is only open from 12:00 (noon) until 5:00 pm.

I used to go there as a businessman in the 90's. Now retired I still enjoy its staid Teutonic ambiance. Not many German speaking waiters left but still they can manage good German dishes. It could do with some 21st century updates but it's OK for lunch.
