My friend and I went for dinner here last night, hearing some great reviews and some historical descriptions, we were eager to check it out. The food was good, the drinks were good, and the service was ok. Until the bill came. Our server offered...More

In San Telmo we took a couple of wrong turnings before we found Bar El Federal, but it was so good when we did. A lovely waiter explained the menu and we showed him the newspaper article that had prompted our visit. He was really...More

My gf and I stopped in for a cocktail after visiting the market. Really a very cool old school spot. The bartender called over a colleague to assist who spoke English when he realizes how poor our Spanish was. LOL. Definitely worth popping in for...More

Entering this café is like entering a live museum. This is apparently the oldest café in Buenos Aires. And it's beautiful. The furniture, the floors has been there for more than hundred years. The friendly waiter gave us a tour of the place and a...More

This is a great old traditional bar and restaurant which serves lots of typically Spanish and Portuguese food as well as steaks and pastas. We ate there many times. We tried a Picardo - cheese and cold meats to share. The steaks were excellent and...More

Enjoyed dinner here. Food was good & portions were big. Was a bit of a language barrier, our server did not speak English well so I ended up with a very well-done steak.

Great priced sandwiches and share plates ($295 BA). Service wasn't anything special, but beers ran fairly inexpensively on tap. Overall a good spot but nothing to rave about. Was a bit disappointed the bread was stale with the meat platter.

Great beer at a fair price, with raw unshelled peanuts gratis to snack on. Atmospheric historic pub with wood paneling. Large menu, well priced but did not eat. Friendly efficient service.
