You can't come to Buenos Aires and not go to Don Julio! Best service and food! Definitely a place to come to. Loved every part of it.

We came here 4 times during our 2 week stay in Buenos Aires - the steak is incredible, staff are amazing, and most importantly the empanadas are life changing. We came 2 times in the day to buy empanadas to take out and sat in...a park nearby for a picnic - we spent 2 months in Argentina and no other empanadas have even come close!! 100% worth the wait for a table, and amazing value for such high quality food!!!More

We visited Don Julio's for lunch. We had made a reservation well in advance of our arrival. When we arrived, we were told not to stand in the queue and were quickly handed a glass of sparking wine. We were the first ones ushered inside...to our waiting table. The serving staff is excellent and the sommelier did an amazing job recommending selections to us by the glass based on our individual tastes. We were sitting where we could see the meat laid out and the chefs working hard at the massive grill. We each ordered a steak and were blown away by the tenderness of the meat and the fact that it was cooked perfectly. Our only mistake was ordering an appetizer of grilled cheese - it was fantastic but filling. That along with really tasty fresh bread made it a challenge for me to finish my steak. The sides are also enormous. We ordered mashed potato and a plate of fries and honestly four people could have eaten from each of the servings. I felt like we wasted a lot of food. One of the most phenomenal meals we have ever had. Had to have a nap after walking back to our hotel. And one thing to keep in mind - if you are paying by credit card - they won't allow you to add your gratuity to the bill. So make sure to bring some cash to tip your servers - they deserve it.More

2nd time at Don J, sat inside this time (didn't book last time), atmosphere is better inside (but if its a warm night outside is also vibey), had a table where we could see the grill. Entrecot Bone in cut was phenomenal, cut out of...the bone perfectly at the table by the super professional waiter. We shared between 2 and was enough as we also ordered home made Chorizo. My favourite side was marinated bell peppers. Treat yourself to a nice bottle of wine, get your waiter to explain after advising what you normally like. Then write a message on the bottle and find a spot on the top of the bar or a shelf in the wall, and place there. I can't wait to go back and see mine (well 2 now haha). There are many good places to have a steak experience in BA, but this one is all time. (Make a booking!! they usually serve right up til 1am)More

I booked a reservation for lunch with no problem two weeks before leaving for our trip. I highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time. Although our waiter did not speak English and we did not speak Spanish, we were able to communicate just fine....The steak was cooked rare, exactly as desired. The provoleta was great. The empanada was just okay - I had had better elsewhere in BA. We went for the steak and it was everything we wanted. The grilled green beans were very fresh and cooked au dente. I would highly recommend eating there if you want an excellent steak. We even bought one of the steak knives as a souvenir.More

After a week of eating meat in Buenos Aires, the last thing I wanted to do was go to another steak house. Boy, was I wrong. Don Julio is head and shoulders above every other steak house in town, from start to finish. The bread...was better, the steak was better, the sides were better, the sweetbreads were better, the relishes were better, the dessert was better, and the wine list was better. On top of that, the service was superb and the sommelier was spot on with her recommendations. The meat and everything else was so good it felt like it was the first time I'd ever eaten at a steak house. Some of New York City's most famous steak houses should fly to Buenos Aires and eat at Don Julio's. They would learn a great deal.More

Best steakhouse in Bueno Aires. Even if I am not really a steak person, I must say that the quality is topnotch (long queue outside). Must visit in Bueno Aires. Live up to its reputation as top 50 restaurants in the world.

Fantastic meal for our one and only night in Buenos Aires. The service was impeccable. We were given a glass of sparkling wine as we waited for about 2 minutes to be seated. We shared the Entrecote, which was amazing. The sommelier's wine suggestion was...perfect. We were there during the Covid-19 scare and they had a guy cycling through the whole restaurant cleaning every possible surface that anyone might touch.More
