Don Julio is a highly ranked parrilla here on trip advisor and a friend of mine recommended a visit, saying that it was the best place around Buenos Aires to eat a good steak. Although the food was indeed great I felt that it could be more reasonably priced. The selection of wines was great (almost overwhelming to say the... More

My husband and I went to Don Julio twice during our one-week stay in Buenos Aires. It is a restaurant with a warm atmosphere, excellent food and excellent service. Many of the reviews comment on how this is a restaurant focused on tourists, but I have to disagree. It caters to everyone who enters this space: tourists and locals. The... More

The food was delicious, great variety of steak options for all appetites. Tasty wine, again a good variety and very affordable. at the end we were able to leave a note on our wine bottle and the waiter placed it amongst the others which was a great end to the evening.

This place is in Palermo, just a few minutes from our hotel and was a brilliant choice for our last night. It was packed (with people queueing outside until very late) so you MUST BOOK. We had steaks with beetroot salad and sprouts (yes sprouts) which were cooked to perfection. The service was totally awesome and the food brilliant, cooked... More

We went here on our first night in Buenos Aires and what a great introduction to the city it was. The restaurant has a very nice decor and really feels bustling, if a little tourist orientated. We had the sweetbreads (mollejas) for starters followed by a massive steak and washed down with a bottle of Argentine malbec. The steak was... More

This restaurant is on all the highly regarded lists and numerous tour books as a must try parilla, I have no idea why. In fact I was warned by a fellow traveler who I met in a local wine shop of his terrible overpriced experience. I was a fool to cling on to the hope that this is a one... More

THIS is a steak house! The best we have had in Buenos Aires, Argentina! I had the Rib Eye, which is what our waiter recommended. My husband had the small sirloin - both were EXCELLENT! They tend to cook their steaks more well done, so be sure to tell them exactly what you want. You must also try their grilled... More

I fell in love with that steakhouse. Succulent, tasty steaks, well ripened, great atmosphere and excellent choice of argentinian wines. Special recommendation (our table of 7 tried almost all cuts) is the t-bone steak. But be aware, its easily enough for two. I couldnt finish mine, and i regret that to this day

We spent a month in BA to learn Spanish and ate steak every day! Don Julios was our favourite by far. The setting, the staff, the choice of wines. You name it don's ticked every box. All the staff our lovely but we loved Hernan and Juan Manuel. They always had a smile on their faces and recommended amazing wines.... More

Staying in Palermo

Neighborhood Profile
Palermo
Best known as the largest neighborhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favorite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
