LA CABAÑA is the most traditional restaurant in Buenos Aires. Established in 1935, it serves the best Argentine beef on the grill accompanied by excellent wine, a menu that turned La Cabaña into a source of inspiration for local cooking and that has been widely replicated all over the town.We invite you to enjoy any of our grilled beef cuts and, if you are willing to wait for an hour, you can have a unique experience tasting our classic "Great Baby Beef" - we suggest you do, savoring a glass of wine and in nice company. You do not get to know the purest Argentine cuisine without visiting our restaurant.

lying on its laurels

The restaurant has excellent reputation, well deserved! However attention should be paid to details, coperto includes varieties of bread but no water! Waiters understand no English therefore getting anything but standard fare difficult! Still worth while a visit!

The restaurant looks nice and is located in the trendy Puerto Maduro area. The patio is inviting. However, the food is mediocre and relatively pricey. We had a Chateaubriand that was somewhat tasteless albeit well prepared in terms of grilling. After 4 days in BA, I know that there are much better options away from the tourist attraction that is Puerto... More

I dined at this restaurant 3 times in 2011 such was the excellent experience. It made sense therefore for La Cabana to be the first port of call on this return trip... And what a disappointment it was from the outset ! The 'greeting' was one of begrudging indifference ( if that can be possible ) - no smiles, no... More

Stopped only for pre dinner cocktails. We were treated to a few surprise treats from the kitchen during our visit, they were fantastic. An extensive wine list made our choice difficult, once we saw the wine selections we discarded the idea of cocktails and instead had a bottle of DV Catena Malbec, very nice. Despite our short stay, we were... More

It was to be a memorable occasion with friends we hadn't seen for many years. What a terrible disappointment! The service was very poor and the waiter was not friendly and very inattentive. We ordered a starter of langoustines - after a long wait it arrived with no "salsa golf" and the waiter wasn't very concerned. The food was very... More

I went there with my girlfriend after reading the reviews on tripadvisor. we have both regretted doing so because: 1. The waiter was unfriendly and inattentive Very slow service. 2. Although we ordered Malbec wine 2013 as written on menu, the waiter brought as Malbec 2014. I know it is only a minor difference but it would be nice if... More

A very nice spot over looking the canal. We ate outside and had a very good overall experience. This is a steak house but I ordered the chicken and it was wonderful, the side of an gratin spinach was very savory, the grilled vegetables average and the complimentary starter tastes very tasty. The only downside is the bread was obviously... More

Staying in Puerto Madero

Neighborhood Profile
Puerto Madero
From its refurbished red brick buildings and port cranes to its modern skyscrapers and luxurious apartment buildings, Puerto Madero is the perfect combination of old and new. The river provides a quiet, relaxing atmosphere that contrasts with the hustle and bustle of heavy traffic just blocks away. Across the river, flanked by skyscrapers, are beautiful parks and quiet streets that make this neighborhood a unique destination in a city as busy as Buenos Aires. The restaurants, bars, and nightclubs on the docks make it a prime spot for nights out and have come to symbolize this area. Puerto Madero is even more striking after dark, when the lights from the docks and skyscrapers glow against the night sky.
