I have beeen there last week for a business lunch. To summarize our experience: 1) We have waited for an hour and a half for the main course -for the starters we did not spend more than 15 minutes but it took more than an hour to get what we´ve ordered. To me at least, that´s unacceptable -even though the... More

Recommended by hotel concierge for "early" dining (7:00pm). Food is exceptional, views of the water are great. Our waiter, Luin, made the night perfect. We had help from several members of the staff, so you cannot go wrong - but if Luin is working, ask for him. Save room for dessert - even if you get a 3 pound steak.

The steak they have here is pretty amazing and you can never go wrong with that. Their salads are also amazing and the porcions are reslly big! I recommend you to share with someone. For dessert i highly recommend the creme brulee!! It is a bit on the expencier side but it is really worth it!

After our 2 day stay in Buenos Aires, we've got the rough picture of the city. Puerto Madero is the modern part of the city which I grew to like the most. After browsing the coast which is full of restaurants I decided we go to La Cabana. Due to mildly cold weather it was the only restaurant that had... More

I had the opportunity to visit Buenos Aires for a business meeting. Of course, being gracious businessmen, my hosts took me to an excellent luncheon at La Cabaña. You know you're in for a treat with the excellent wine and steak choices. I had the tenderloin. Fantastic! Loved the atmosphere and location along the Rio Dique. Steps away from the... More

We visited for lunch, we were actually searching for another restaurant that we had visited previously in Puerto Mader, but couldn't find it, so chose La Cabana instead. The wine list offered a comprehensive selection of Argentinian wines. The serves " by the glass" we're generous. The decor was nothing special, but the food was well presented, and the steak... The restaurant is well located, the staff is friendly, not the best restaurant in Argentina, yet the most expensive I have been to, it is good but worth the price

Every meat is just great! Try the mix platter to get a taste. Leave room for the dessert as well it is delicious. Wash it with local red wine. Unforgettable.

I was wandering the port to select a place for dinner after a long work day, La Cabana worked out very well. The service was very friendly and helpful. The ambiance, while nice, was casual in tone. I sat on the patio and enjoyed a wonderful meal on my own. I did not order steak. But kept to vegetarian options,... More

This is a typical Argentine Steakhouse in Puerto Madero. The decoration is superb. The food was awesome. I ordered "Entrana", a cut of beef like a thin skirt steak, difficult to find in the US (except Miami). I ordered it with "Papas Soufle" that are thinly sliced potatoes that are deep fried a special way that makes them inflate, with... More

Description
LA CABAÑA is the most traditional restaurant in Buenos Aires. Established in 1935, it serves the best Argentine beef on the grill accompanied by excellent wine, a menu that turned La Cabaña into a source of inspiration for local cooking and that has been widely replicated all over the town.We invite you to enjoy any of our grilled beef cuts and, if you are willing to wait for an hour, you can have a unique experience tasting our classic "Great Baby Beef" - we suggest you do, savoring a glass of wine and in nice company. You do not get to know the purest Argentine cuisine without visiting our restaurant.

Staying in Puerto Madero

Neighborhood Profile
Puerto Madero
From its refurbished red brick buildings and port cranes to its modern skyscrapers and luxurious apartment buildings, Puerto Madero is the perfect combination of old and new. The river provides a quiet, relaxing atmosphere that contrasts with the hustle and bustle of heavy traffic just blocks away. Across the river, flanked by skyscrapers, are beautiful parks and quiet streets that make this neighborhood a unique destination in a city as busy as Buenos Aires. The restaurants, bars, and nightclubs on the docks make it a prime spot for nights out and have come to symbolize this area. Puerto Madero is even more striking after dark, when the lights from the docks and skyscrapers glow against the night sky.
