This is my absolute favorite in BA. Prices are high but portions are huge and made to share. The rice dishes feed 3-4 people. Fish dishes 2-3. The food is superb. Be aware that there are three restaurants called Marcelo, all owned by the same person. The best is the one in Puerto Madero. There is a good one on... More

This place is still the best Italian around in BA. Came here 10 years ago and again this week and the food, service are spot on. Don't miss this one, it is worth every penny.

I got the recommendation for this place from the locals. It's really worth of a try. They have amazing Italian food . I had the grilled veggies as a starter and mix of fishes in tomato sauce for the main course ( both shared with a friend because portions are very big). The English menu is not very precise as... Didn't believe all the warnings about sharing appetizers and should have. We finished only our main dish, and barely. The portion sizes are unreal. Very well cooked, probably he tastiest meal we had in B.A. Great service, highly recommended, go hungry.

Although the menus alert about servings for 2 people in some of their plates, the truth is that they are big enough for 3 and upto 4 people. That's where the service attending should accommodate to each customer. Food is very good, but expected given the history of the "brand" let alone the price paid i.e. comparable to Cipriani prices... Marcelo is in my opinion the best Italian Restaurant in Latin America. Every time I visit Buenos Aires I go to Marcelo and eat their Chitarra pasta with Pomodoro and Basil sauce. It's just amazing.

The restaurant is located in Puerto Madero do you know this place is going to be expensive. The waiter warned us the servings are massive so we aimed low and ordered an appetizer with Parma Prosciutto and cheese. Real good. For the entree we had a simple Risitto with Ossobuco. We splitted the serving among three and did not finish... More

I have been many times in this restaurant during the last 8 years and you find always the same quality food. You can enjoy homemade pasta, fish, meat and chicken but their special is pasta. For my taste food has perfect level of flavor, spices and exactly point for the different kind of pasta or meat. Special advice is the... More

Staying in Puerto Madero

Neighborhood Profile
Puerto Madero
From its refurbished red brick buildings and port cranes to its modern skyscrapers and luxurious apartment buildings, Puerto Madero is the perfect combination of old and new. The river provides a quiet, relaxing atmosphere that contrasts with the hustle and bustle of heavy traffic just blocks away. Across the river, flanked by skyscrapers, are beautiful parks and quiet streets that make this neighborhood a unique destination in a city as busy as Buenos Aires. The restaurants, bars, and nightclubs on the docks make it a prime spot for nights out and have come to symbolize this area. Puerto Madero is even more striking after dark, when the lights from the docks and skyscrapers glow against the night sky.
