You don't go to these restaurants every other day but when you do, you pay a lot but for very good food. We had the prosciutto, mozzarella and dried tomatoes and carbonara. Delicious!

We did not like this place at all and felt completely ripped off. First of all the price quoted for the pasta dishes for two is quoted per person and not the total price which is the norm at every other restaurant that serves dishes to share. We naturally assumed it was the price for two and thus ended up... More

After eating our fill of steak and empanadas in Buenos Aires, it was time for something different. We are lovers of Italian food and after reading the reviews for Marcelo, decided this was the place to go. There was so much to love about this experience, lovely decor, the bread selection was great, good wine list and the entrees were... More

This was our first night with a group of foodies visiting Argentina for the first time from USA. I had in mind to have them taste different dishes, and share each of them in order to have their taste buds going crazy! So we sample few appetizers such as Antipasto, Prosciutto & Mozzarella, Rabas in a light tempura, fried baby... More

Amazing Italian restaurant at the beautiful Puerto Madero. The plates serve 2 (maybe 3) and are delicious!!! The fettuccine carbonara was to die for and the profiteroles were massive and some of the best I've ever had!!

Been here a few times for lunch and dinner and it is a truly great restaurant. Busy, professional service, great, high quality food served in big portions. Always full with the upper middle class locals of BA - a good sign! Tiramisu was delicious, and I have had a few... fresh pasta, of course. Staff very professional and helpful. Real... More

This is an excellent restaurant that 2 couples ate lunch 2 weeks ago. The servings are very large including the salads and can be shared. We ordered the carbonara and the pasta wax home made and delicious. The other couple ordered black squid ink risotto which was divine. Service was slow but the restaurant was packed. I highly recommend this... More

This is a good italian restaurant in the heart of the vibrant and expensive Puerto Madero area. Surrounded by top touristic restaurants, visitors tend to expect great food for expensive prices. The disappointment at Marcelos starts when you open the menu: options are distributed in a confusing manner, with different sectors jn the menu for the same sort of food.... More

This is my absolute favorite in BA. Prices are high but portions are huge and made to share. The rice dishes feed 3-4 people. Fish dishes 2-3. The food is superb. Be aware that there are three restaurants called Marcelo, all owned by the same person. The best is the one in Puerto Madero. There is a good one on... More

Staying in Puerto Madero

Neighborhood Profile
Puerto Madero
From its refurbished red brick buildings and port cranes to its modern skyscrapers and luxurious apartment buildings, Puerto Madero is the perfect combination of old and new. The river provides a quiet, relaxing atmosphere that contrasts with the hustle and bustle of heavy traffic just blocks away. Across the river, flanked by skyscrapers, are beautiful parks and quiet streets that make this neighborhood a unique destination in a city as busy as Buenos Aires. The restaurants, bars, and nightclubs on the docks make it a prime spot for nights out and have come to symbolize this area. Puerto Madero is even more striking after dark, when the lights from the docks and skyscrapers glow against the night sky.
