If you want a break from the delicious and classic Argentinian chorizos, Marcelo is the perfect restaurant! It serves delicious pasta, seafood and has a great wine menu. The waiters are nice and as the restaurant is located in Puerto Madero, you can enjoy a walk around after lunch or dinner. Prices are higher, but the quality is worthy!

Top notch service, a very pleasant atmosphere and a price more than fair to all the delights of this restaurant! The linguini ai frutti dei mare is outstanding!

If you have a big appetite this the place for you. If you can't manage a big meal then either order one meal for two or have a half size portion. We ate Salmon rissotto and a bolougnaise lasagne for mains and eggplant for entrees. All was very nice indeed. No issues with the price albeit at the upper end... More

Food was very good, our waiter was very professional and friendly however we were shocked when the bill arrived and we were charged $75 pesos per person for table service fee. This does not go to the waiter as a tip, instead it's an extra charge for a bit of bread that they just bring to the table at the... More

It is very refreshing to be able to just sit back and enjoy your meal without pressure from your servers. Nice ambiance, great server, good food and reasonable value though high for BA. House service charge of 85/person for bread and parking was obnoxious as - without a car - 13 USD for bread is just dopey. Had veal (more... More

Marcello Piegari, son of previous owner of Piegari Vitello e Dolci, in the Recova de Posadas opened his own place in Puerto Madero. I expected a great deal and was disappointed. Meat not up to par, and prices surprisingly high. I only went once, and will not return. Piegari is now Piegari Carnes (Meats) in Recova de Posades and Marcello... More

Excellent traditional Italian food with pasta, pizza, meat, seafood. A sought-after place for locals, make sure you have a booking. A bit noisy due to families, and a pity there are no solo plates for pasta.

I went to this restaurant with my family(3), but when I saw the menu all the plates were oversized and there was no option for a smaller portion. I ordered a steak and the rest of my family order the pasta with seafood. The steak was undercooked and was hard, the past tasted like sand and was a really big... More

After three nights of Argentinian steak we asked for a recommendation to an Italian restaurant. We were booked a table at the "Marcelo' which is ten minutes walk from the Hilton. It's a very good restaurant, good choice of Italian food, well cooked and tasty. The waiters do not speak much English, but English menus are available. Service is fair,... More

Located at the world famous Puerto Madero district in Buenos Aires, this restaurant has the best Italian food in the neighborhood. The servings are huge, so you can share and try more than one! For appetizers the deep fried olives are delicious and for main course my favorite is the Tagliolini alla chitarra, simple and amazingly delicious!!!! A must!!!!

Staying in Puerto Madero

Neighborhood Profile
Puerto Madero
From its refurbished red brick buildings and port cranes to its modern skyscrapers and luxurious apartment buildings, Puerto Madero is the perfect combination of old and new. The river provides a quiet, relaxing atmosphere that contrasts with the hustle and bustle of heavy traffic just blocks away. Across the river, flanked by skyscrapers, are beautiful parks and quiet streets that make this neighborhood a unique destination in a city as busy as Buenos Aires. The restaurants, bars, and nightclubs on the docks make it a prime spot for nights out and have come to symbolize this area. Puerto Madero is even more striking after dark, when the lights from the docks and skyscrapers glow against the night sky.
