This is our third visit to Yalikavak and each time we have had a delightful time at this restaurant, eating there every night and recommending it to everyone. However on this visit we discovered that our friend the owner had sold the business and we...were the first guests on the first night under the new ownership. The meal was a total disaster. The waiter did not even speak 'restaurant english'. It was a battle to place an order. The stuffed mushrooms were almost inedible. My steak was dry and overcooked with a very strange choice of accompanying vegetables and my wife's red snapper was tiny red mullet deep fried in thick batter and swimming in oil. We tried to make allowances for starting difficulties and are what we could BG before paying the bill. The new owner was voluably apologetic and suggested we return the following night for a 'free meal'. We did not take up the offer BG because the restaurant was closed the next night - and the night after that. What a pity to end a great relationship like this.More

We ate here last night and although front of house guy is very friendly once you are seated and we were told where to sit it became another story. Our waiter was impatient and he was trying to rush our youngest daughter into making a...decision at one point he made the decision for her at which point I intervened. At this point I almost got up to leave I wish we had! It did not get any better our meals did not come together and the service was so fast you could almost be in McDonald's and we joked we would be out within 20 minutes and sure enough our starters and mains were served eaten and removed within 20 minutes. When I tried to order an extra side dish our waiter once again impatient did not wait and just have us more bread! This was such a shame as the food did taste nice but was not enjoyable. There are friendly relaxed fish restaurants that deserve your custom but avoid this one unless you are in a hurry.More

We decided to eat here after checking out other some other restaurants on the waters edge (all with very pushy staff). Beautiful location with amazing views across the water. I quite like to be left alone to eat, so the intrusions and forced conversation with...the waiter was slightly annoying. Didn't spoil the meal though, and they were friendly enough. I had grilled calamari to start which was OK, and steak with mushroom sauce for main. Again this was nice without being anything amazing. Wine wasn't great but they kept coming over to top up the water with bottle water which was good. It was reasonably priced for what we had, and on par with the quality. I've awarded the place 3/5, in reality is closer to a 4. I wouldn't eat here again, but that's not to say it wasn't a pleasant enough experience, and overall I would still recommend itMore

We have eaten at Murat's restaurant, during our stay in Yalikavak, on several occasions. We never fail to be impressed by the courteous staff and service and, of course, great food. Fresh fish daily straight from the boats and hearty steaks and Turkish specialities are...a delight! The location is unbeatable right at the water's edge on the harbour side with a large outside decked area for Al fresco dining or inside the restaurant which is constructed entirely of glass for 360 degree views. You will not be disappointed.More

Eight of us visited this restaurant on the recommendation of our hotel and it turned out to be very disappointing. The bread arrived wrapped in a cloth in a basket and turned out to be cold toast. We reckoned this was left over bread from...lunch time service. For mains, those of us who had snapper fish were presented with shriveled, small deep fat fried fish of sardine size. They were inedible. This came with dried old rocket leaves that had seen better days. We did complain and the waiter agreed to provide better fish with a proper salad and chips. This was only a minor improvement and we made an official complaint to the management when leaving. My friend who had the spaghetti seafood dish found very little seafood in it and found it a very indifferent dish. Others found their dishes warm and not hot and decidedly a very underwhelming experience. Thus eve meal wasn't cheap and we were not given a reduced bill for the poor service. I definitely would not eat there again. There are many other better restaurants to try.More

We ate at Yali Kuji on our last night in Turkey (it was recommended by the manager of our hotel) and it was an amazing experience. The service was excellent and the fish was incredible and the prices were reasonable. It is right on the...water so we were able to watch the sunset which added to the experience. Too bad we discovered this gem on our last night or we probably would have gone back.More

We returned after one year and were warmly greeted by name. Although the menu is basically the same as at all the other restaurants in Yalikavak because it is early season and the kitchen is not under pressure they will suggest alternative ways of preparing...the dishes. It is always a good sign when local people dine in the restaurant and here the clientele is 50% local and 50% tourists. Foir a typical Turkish Breakfast on Sunday (a real treat) - our day of departure - there were 18 Turkish people plus ourselves. Please do give this restaurant a try.More

Really friendly service and went out of their way to put together a meze selection for us and to cook a special vegetarian meal for us. The meze selection was great as was the fish. Very authentic food. Worth a visit but we did find...better elsewhere.More

Just loved Yali Kuyi, which is right on the sea front in Yalikavak. Personal service, excellent and reasonably priced wine, great meze and seafood. Try the 'cheese sweet' for dessert. It was so good, we ate here twice during our stay.

We were introduced to the manager by our hotel manager and he greeted us on our first visit. Very helpful. Good food. Right by the waterfront. If you got cold they gave you a wrap to put round you.
