Beach Bar never disappoints with its service and its food. These guys know how to run a restaurant. Even in these difficult times they have adapted and overcome.
Tino, as ever, is buzzing around the place making everyone feel welcome. Really good to see all...the staff again this year.More
2 meals here so far this holiday, 3rd one booked. Location second to none. Have had the sardines, fried king prawns and sea bass so far all washed down with some fabulous Alvarinho. “Chips” are lovely cubed fried potatoes. Service very welcoming and efficient. Highly...recommended.More
Been regular visitors to the Beach Bar for the last 17 years. It never disappoints, the food is consistently top quality especially the fish. Worth paying a bit more for such a fantastic spot , so relaxing - location, location, location!
Great restaurant on the beach, superb fir lunch and dinner. Friendly service, fab food. The lamb chops were to die for.
Great if you want to park yourself in the beach all day with just a few steps to go for lunch
This place has been here for many years and I would guess the view has not change significantly. From an outside table you can watch the breakers and sometimes surfers. This as agreed by a number of friends is one of the best places to...relax, socialize, have a meal and a drink and occasionally on a Sunday in the high season listen to the guest band.
The staff and owners are welcoming and helpful and if like others who have been frequenting The Burgau Beach Bar for a long time, regarded more as friends than staff. The food is good and if you like your sardines then this is the place to eat. Also a favourite with us is the crispy chicken salad. We are looking forward to some long lunches at The Beach Bar this summer with some of our friends who have been enjoying the hospitality for years and years.More
On our first day in Burgau, during October half term, we visited this restaurant for lunch. We were lucky to get a table as it was extremely busy. We ordered a goats cheese salad, mussels and cubed potatoes. The atmosphere was good and of course...the position of the restaurant right on the beach has fabulous views. The staff were friendly and attentive.
When the food arrived we found the salad disappointing as it was just salad leaves with a few slices of radish for garnish and the goats cheese on top. It was a good quantity of goats cheese but no imagination for the salad. The potatoes were lovely but the most disappointing part were the mussels. There were lots of them however the sauce tasted burnt and overpowered the mussels which wasn't very nice to eat. We called the waiter over to explain so I said the butter sauce tasted burnt, to which he said they don't use butter only olive oil, natural products and that they are smoked when cooked using garlic and wine? Unfortunately we couldn't taste garlic and wine just burnt liquid.
Like silly beggars we accepted what he said and carried on eating, in hindsight we should have asked him to taste it to see if they thought they were delicious or returned them but of course you live and learn!
Also, as expected the restaurant take full advantage of its position, as we found the food very overpriced. Our 3 dishes with 2 large beers came to almost 50 euros.
So...we ate the 'smoked' mussels and never returned.More
