This International award winning destination venue is the most unique restaurant setting in the world. Created out of an authentic, cave previously inhabited by a Koi Strandloper of the same name, the restaurant spills out onto the oceans rocks of Walker Bay in Hermanus, where Whale Watching is the preferred local pass-time. The rustic charm and natural ambiance of the cave and it's surroundings is a delight to all our patrons with many returning year after year to sample the delights of Bientang's Cave. With an abundance of sea and bird life as well as Dassies for company, this exquisite setting is heightened by the freshest seafood and an award winning wine list (Diners Club Diamond Award

This restaurants view is incredible! It’s quite an experience sitting at your table and having the ocean spray up right next to you. Our cocktails were divine but the food was rather expensive. Most waiters walk around without their masks on though.
The setting of this restaurant could not be better. Situated in a cave with tables on the rocks it is spectacular. Table 44 couldn't get any closer to the water. It is rather on the expensive side and the desert was pricey and disappointing but...main course the Bientangs potjie was excellent as was the seafood platter.More
Teenage crowd looking to get wasted
Waiters OK, but lacking professionalism especially in their uniforms.
Will not visit again as this restaurant certainly does not live up to expectations unfortunately.
Worst fish meals for everyone.....so disappointing with overseas visitors. Lovely vibe but the food prices are absolutely ridiculous to say the least. Owners needs to look at food quality...after all it is a restaurant!!! You get the feeling that you are so fortunate to come...to their restaurant....it borders on arrogance.....will never suggest this place again or take our visitors for a unaffordable mealMore
It is a lovely place, that’s absolutely worth a visit. Unfortunately seems the restaurant to take advantage of that and doesn‘t care about service and food quality at all. So I experienced a mediocre service and bad food at a ridiculously high price. Go there...for a drink, or just visit the place, it’s open to everyone. Don’t eat there.More
We enjoyed every single bite of the meals we had.The quality and the price is reasonable.Cape Seafood curry and Catch of the day with their daily veg outstanding.Servers are also great and always efficient, happy and polite. Can't wait to return and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to...anyone looking for somewhere to eat in Hermanus.More
The setting can not be better.
Very disappointed with the started, prawns (4) were served with sweet chilly sauce from a bottle.
The fish of the day was excellent.
We waited more than an hour for our order!
The waiter was the biggest disappointment. He...was annoying, loud mouthed and inappropriate with his conversation.
Will not recommend the restaurant at all.More

We are most sorry that you had such disappointing service. Do you remember the name of your waiter and what his inappropriate conversation was, as we would like to take this further.
Thanking you in advance
