The food here is really first rate and there are some interesting game choices on the menu. I find the atmosphere a bit more stilted than some of the other places in town, but that does make it feel like a real special occasion spot.

Superb food without attitude. Comfortable. Relaxed. Convenient. Sprawls through an old building that feels quite homey, yet elegant. If you are American, a highlight of the year is Thanksgiving Turkey dinner with all the trimmings.

I feel comfortable visiting this restaurant on my own. The staff are friendly and recognised me when I revisited from the year before! I always order three courses as it's seasonal and the portions are perfectly sized. When I visited I ordered the special savoury tart - light pastry and tomatoes packed with flavour. I am not sure if this... More

Was recommended to my husband and I and what a find. My husband confused the starter, thought he had ordered the double souffle and got the zebra. When we mentioned this to the waiter the souffle was also served (no extra charge). The meal overall was brilliant. The wine was great and we tasted two wines before deciding on which... More

7 guest, three courses, plenty of wine, stylish and hip place, wide range of unusual treats, as well as more traditional offerings, ( I had a zebra carpaccio and grilled warthog). All for less than £20 per head- amazing, even with the Rand/pound exchange rate. Great staff, cool place and I will definitely return

Arrived by cab and welcomed warmly by the security guard on the door. Although we had not made a reservation we were welcomed by the owner, Caroline who found us a table. Had Sugar Cured Zebra for starter followed by the Rack Of Lamb. My friend had the Karoo Steak. All completely delicious and beautifully presented. Service was also excellent.... More

Nice restaurant in down town Cape Town, good food. The menu shows a good variety of dishes however local foreigners say they hardly change the menu. As a traveller it was alright for us though.

Savoy Cabbage was highly recommended by our hotel and it was just a short walk away. The service was spot on and the food could not have been better prepared or more satisfying. I had the duck breast and it was cooked to perfection (in my opinion, this is a skill most restaurants do not possess). I highly recommend this... More

Savoy Cabbage was recommended to me by a few people, so when the opportunity presented itself, a friend and I went. It was a Friday evening and we were a little surprised at how few people there were in the restaurant. (much may have to do with the loud and ugly demolition taking place across the street). The ambiance in... More

I can see elements of good things- yet not enough to carry it through. The waiter was arrogant and did not like to be corrected. The filet was tough and underwhelmed with flavor. The fish was also under seasoned. At points we had to seek attention by the staff- and the waiter looked annoyed that we were bothering him. Despite... More

Description
Enjoy creative contemporary cooking in a visually exciting venue. With its historic Table Mountain stone and old brick that dates back to the 18th century, architect Leon Saven's design is complemented by glass, concrete and exposed ducting. Cabbage motif chandeliers and salt dishes, fine table appointments and impeccable service reflect outstanding attention to detail. The menu alters daily, using the freshest local produce and combines unusual flavours to excite the palate of the discerning diner. A boutique wine list which is very reasonably priced.
