Upon arrival you are introduced to the set menu of the evening (as none of us have special dietary requirements I do not know if it is problematic to have changes to your menu). Food arrived at a nice pace and all the plates were properly introduced and where the dish originated from. During the meal there was a performance... More

Very turistic. They serve typical food of most of Africa, they serve lots of it and all very delicious. The decor is beautiful and very colorful. It has a great location. The maids do several demonstrations of songs and dances of Africa. One of the waitresses plays very well the drum and also sings. Worth going to dinner. It is... More

Even though the "Africa Cafe" is very touristic and obviously it doesn't represent the actual "african life" anymore we still liked it a lot! There is no menu! The will just bring you many many different dishes which you can try, if you want you can (for free) order additional portions of the things you like! For us the food... More

The food was so very good. A very wide range of dishes and all very well seasoned. I especially loved the young lady that painted our faces.

Having eaten at this restaurant when we visited Cape Town three years ago, my husband and I decided that this year we would return to Cape Town with 10 of our family members. Our sister-in-law was celebrating her birthday, and we knew we had to take the family to experience the delicious food, the welcoming atmosphere, and the South African... More

I visited last night with my mother and daughter. We were not aware of the set menu but it was incredible value for money. 16 small dishes with a huge amount of variety. The staff also sang and danced which was a real treat. They also painted my daughter's face with a lovely African design. We were stuffed at the... More

A large group of us visited here and we're served by a really friendly waiter who explained everything to us in preparation of our meal. He washed our hands and explained it is within African culture to eat with your hands, but knives and forks were laid on the table too rather than having to awkwardly ask for them. The... More

What can I say about The Africa Cafe? The food was spectacular, the staff were extremely friendly and entertaining, the prices were fantastic, it was overall the complete experience. We went there as a group of 8 with very little in the way of expectations and were all delighted at the end of the night with everything that happened on... More

If you want a real African food experience this is a great option. The menu is fixed and you are served up 16 excellent courses. The servings are very generous and we felt guilty leaving quite a lot because we just couldn't fit it in. Top off the night was the staff singing, dancing and playing the drums as they... More
