I'm Cameroonian so I can vouch for authentic food that is well seasoned, and this is it. They served us something exactly the same as beignet made in my culture, which was delicious, but I also loved the coconut chicken. I appreciated that the food was actually spicy! At home all I eat is spicy food and it was hard... More

The food was amazing and the service was very unique. It was great to sample lots of different types of foods. The waiters sang and painted faces. Very fun place to visit for a touristy experience.

Came to the Africa Cafe on our last night in Cape Town. Is it touristy? Yes, but that's what makes it so wonderful. The food is absolutely delicious and has tons of vegetarian options, which isn't easy to come by in some foreign countries. All of the waitstaff was lovely, and took the time to get to know my husband... More

We arrived here following a taxi suggestion, and it was just amazing! The service is fantastic (Damari was so nice to us! But also the others). We highly recommend this place if you want to try a lot of different African dishes in a nice atmosphere with a truly dedicated personal!

The staff is warm and kind and friendly, the staff sings traditional South African songs during the meal and plays the drums and it is unbelievable. We stumbled across the restaurant on our first night in Cape Town and it was an unforgettable meal. You don't have to decide what to have, because everything you on thier daily menu comes... More

I thoroughly enjoyed the food at this restaurant and it was a great place for a large group. It gave us a chance to try many South African dishes. Some of my favorites were the cassava bread and some of the condiments. The service and entertainment were good. I was a little bothered that we were unable to take the... More

As a Capetonian, I found Africa Cafe to be overpriced and inflexible. Only once we were seated were we informed that the menu was set and we had to have everything on it. As we were not that hungry, it was uncomfortable to have successive rounds of food delivered to our table - especially as the starters were so filling.... More

If you are looking for a mix of what Africa offers to eat, and be entertained by the staff singing beautifully to the beat of their drums then Africa Cafe is the place. Centrally located with good parking opposite - although we used the very reasonably priced taxis recommended by our B&B or the restaurant ( Uber). 15 dishes arrive... More

My girlfriend and I enjoyed a lovely evening at Africa Cafe. We booked in advance and mentioned in the booking that neither of us ate fish. We were really impressed when, whilst we were being shown to our seats, our host asked us why we didn't eat fish, all in a joking manner. To remember this detail from a booking... More

Honestly, it seemed like it could be a tourist trap but ended up being one of the highlight meals of our trip. there is so much food and it is all freaking delicious. husband and i were struggling to sample everything at the end - that is how good it was. we wanted to seriously make room for everything. the...
