We were tourists, so thought i be a fun way to experience African foods in a nice setting. It was slightly more touristy than we hoped, however the vibe as good and food as well. There was some singing and dancing by staff. We loved it, but would have enjoyed it even more if it looked like the staff also... More

The Africa cafe is a nice restaurant for an authentic experience however it was the most expensive restaurant I ate at during my ten days in Cape Town yet it was the worst one when it came to the food. It's ok if you're just after a fun experience but do expect to pay alot. Set price 330 rand per... More

This place has a set menu and will bring you what seems like 28 different plates to sample. Great food but do not over indulge on the first few options since there are plenty more to come. There is live music but come in rounds so that you can still carry on a conversation and not be drowned out by... More

We recently hosted some guests from overseas and opted for dinner at The Africa Cafe to give them a real African taste. The food was delicious and plentiful and the variety of vegetarian options were also great. The atmosphere was casual and fun. Participating in hand washing, face painting song and dance were all part of the enjoyment of the... More

We visited some years ago, had a great time then so wanted to go back. Menu virtually the same as our first visit and unfortunately the staff seemed too busy to interact. The singing was really good.

The restaurant has 3 levels and we were seated on the top floor, which is partly open air and offers views of table mountain. They offer a set menu consisting of around 15 different items, at least half of which are vegetarian. There isn't much red meat on the menu. The food is served tapas style to share and divided... We always had good memories of this place. We always return on our trips back to the Cape. This time we went with a new generation of the family and they loved it.

Came here as a friend back home insisted we had to come. Our last night in South Africa after a long road trip, this restaurant was next door to our hotel so we decided to eat here. It is a taste of African food - about 14 dishes plus desert. Women are offered face painting and sometime during the meal... More

dined with my wife not knowing much about the ensuing evening, the menu is set and we were presented with far too much food on far to many plates, the the table disappeared! Most of the food i thought was either too bland or too spicy. Too many vegetables and not enough meat.. yes it is African cuisine and you... More

I went with a group of eight people to the Africa Cafe. Diners do not order from a menu. Instead, we were served a 16 course feast. Many of the dishes were excellent, and most were very good. About midway through the meal, some of the staff sang a couple of African songs and danced too. This place caters to... More
