Incredible setting, wonderful food done beautifully. Great selection. Staff was helpful with dietary restrictions. I was able to enjoy a gluten free and dairy free meal without issue. I can’t say enough about the staff being helpful, the spot unforgettable and the food fresh and...delicious!More

We stayed in nearby hotel and enjoyed the food for lunch and dinners in a number of evenings. Even as a returning visitor, we always found something great to choose from the menu and it included a number of options aswell. Love the place, the...staff and the atmosphere ❤️More

Two friends out for a meal. We shared the platter as our starter it was beautifully presented and a ample for the two of us. Slowly Braised Karoo Lamb Ragout and Grilled Pork Neck were our choices for the main meal. The Rogout was very...tender and tasty and the Pork cooked perfectly. We both agreed that the Ragout was an excellent choice and a flavoursome meal. Dessert we shared the Wild Fig Mess - decadent with the sweetness of the cream and the tartness of the berry coulis and the lemon curd was lovely. Pleasant service and a nice eveningMore

A group of colleagues went to the Wild Fig on Thursday at 16h30 for an early meal. We were 4 women, including international guests. We have always had good service here before and used the Wild Fig often to entertain colleagues, though we have not...been here since COVID. We were the only people in the restaurant when we arrived. As three of the women had large handbags we put these on an extra chair which we added to out table. Shortly after ordering the manager came and removed the chair, saying it was needed for the adjacent table. By the time we left at 18h30, the restaurant was about 50% full, said table was still unoccupied and several tables (and chairs) were not in use. When pointing this out to the manager and suggesting that it was not unreasonable to have an extra chair at our table as so many were vacant, we were met with defensiveness, lack of customer-orientated approach and, quite frankly, rudeness. I will not be entertaining colleagues at the Wild Fig again and will not be visiting myself.More

I ordered the lamb shank (at R 220). The meat was of poor quality. Tough, and stringy, prepared and presented unimaginative and poorly for the price charged. The service matched the food. Uncaring and defensive when I complained. I left the restaurant feeling done in,...and looking for dental floss to remove half the lamb shank stuck between my teeth! This is not a restaurant that I will recommend to anyone.More

It's easy venue if inviting old friends from north, south and Atlantic seaboard. I corresponded with Sophia, who was excellent and was there on the day. They have set menus but decided to go a la carte, which could lead to massive delays if you...have a large group. Sophia printed special menus for us and even offered the Sunday roast as a mains. We were split into two tables and first tables orders came out first and then the second very quickly. Everybody raved about the food in messages we received afterwards. I was a little uncertain of red wine to serve at the table so had a little free sampling at the cozy bar and chose 2013 Wild Fig Reserve , which was smoother than a politicians election speech. ( A real Gem at about R180). Service was unobtrusive and perfect and very good value.More

Looks like this place may have suffered during Covid and may need time to get back on track. Nice location. Good vegetarian options. Very pleasant service.

It was a celebratory lunch for a 50th Wedding Anniversary for a very special couple. The restaurant provided the perfect function room with much space for people to gather and chat and to enjoy a good sit down meal. The service was excellent and the...meal served expeditiously. Thoroughly enjoyed by all that attended.More

Sitting under the trees and the vines was great and we were well distanced from other clients. Our waiter was very friendly and brought our drinks quickly. We did have a fair wait for our order but this was a family lunch and had a...lot to catch up on. We all really enjoyed our food and portions were not overly large so we weren't restricted to just one course. We waited a long time for the bill but the problem was solved by my son going inside to pay.More

The Wild Fig had a good reputation for its food. However, I was disappointed, as it was home-style cooking, with not too much attention given to presentation. Two of us had kudu; the grilled vegetables came on the side, in one bowl for both of...us. The other person had lamb, which was all right, but nothing to write home about, It's not an inexpensive restaurant, so one expects more.More

We visited the restaurant for a late working lunch since its generally peaceful and a good space to work in. Except that at some point my guests and I had to listen to an unknown woman and a "Trevor" (both some form of management) screaming...and swearing at each other. It was so unpleasant we didn't even bother to order anything else. Won't be back and I feel sorry for the staff.More

NO TEMPERATURE checks at the door. No sanitising! Not cool! This USED to be a great restaurant. Not anymore. Signature dishes have been removed like the Greek Lamb in Phyllo pastry and the Chicken Pasta with chorizo . Why? Instead the menu has been dumbed...down to dishes that are cooked without anyone having taste testing them. Just because the correct ingredients are included does equate to a tasty meal. My beetroot, feta & butternut salad came with very bland spinach leaves which made it simply unpalatable. Replaced this with chicken pie which tasted of too much flour! Is no one taste-testing the food? On arrival, there were 3 other tables, who, like us, were ignored for about 15 mins. Where were the serving staff? Apparently cleaning glasses! Come-on guys! Set-up happens BEFORE customers arrive! Seems the restaurant was woefully understaffed - on a Friday night? We are locals and previously enjoyed The Wild Fig over a few DECADES. Not anymore. You just lost 4 customers.More

My first time visit. Not greeted or welcomed by the two gentlemen at the reception, granted one was attending to customer, the other seemed to be focused on cashing up and knocking off. Food was not great. Small steak portion was completely covered by onion...rings. Food was cold and meat temperature was medium rare while order was for medium. Steak was returned and came back as preferred. Lastly set up decor is lovely, but what’s the use of a fireplace if it’s not being kept alive with burning wood on a wet cold day!More
