I absolutely love this place purely because of the memories I’ve built up over the years. A Cape Town institution. Make sure you have time though, the service isn’t great. They take a while to get back to you. In 4 hours we had o...waiter check in 5 times, which means we were dry often(being true South Africans). A true pity. The memories of the “old days” make it kind of worth it.More

We had drinks and had a really good time! Strict Covid protocols were in place and we were reminded of that throughout the night- nice to know you can still go out and have a good time with restrictions. Thanks to management and waiters.

Management approached our table nervously after watching us for a bit and says "I don't normally do this...", and told us about a distressed woman in the bar and asked if we would like to buy her USB stick to help her out with money,...and so I did (nice guy I am), although I didn't need one. FAKE USB STICK. All a scam. Makes me think of all the times my friends told me their phones were stolen at Mitchells.More

My wife and I visited the V&A for some drinks. It was round about 20h00 and the V&A was EMPTY with only a few people walking around...but to our surprise, there were a good number of people at Mitchells. A long story short... The service...was excellent and friendly. The burger was OUTSTANDING !! The beer was out of this world Thanks Mitchells for excellent food and service.More

We visit this establishment regularly, not for food but because there is a good selection of excellent beers and wines, and there is usually a great atmosphere in the pub or outside on the terrace. The waiter service is also good and friendly.

We only stopped here for a drink and had a 4 glass flight of tasting ales a bit expensive really for SA, but we are on holiday. The food served to others looked pretty good though.

We visited Mitchells two times in February and were always satisfied. Food was good, service friendly and the homemade beer is great, too but a bit expensive, I think.

The history of this establishment apparently goes back to 1983, although the present location was chosen in 1989. Situated next to a road at the V&A waterfront, it is a pleasant enough place to reach and easy to reach. There is a good choice of...local and other beers; tasting before you choose is possible, too. Staff is friendly and efficient. The food, however, is distinctly average, prepared without much love. So I would recommend coming here for a drink but eat elsewhere.More
