About
Our new oyster bar is located in the heart of the V& A Waterfront. Choose between cocktail, medium, large and extra large oysters with a selection of indulgent toppings or just plain and simple (as nature intended) with a dash of lemon and Tabasco. Our menu includes super fresh Sushi, Seafood and full bar with draft beer & cocktails. For non Seafood eaters we have incredible Wagyu and Vegetarian burgers and salads. We also have small kiddies menu. Open 7 days a week from 11am to 10pm.

We had lunch there yesterday and couldn't have asked for a better place! Our server Vuyokazi truly went above and beyond to ensure that we had a great dining experience! She was so friendly, always smiling, and had great recommendations!
We shared some oysters, which were all delicious, then my friend had a Ceasars salad, and I opted for the muscles in the white wine sauce. The sauce was amazing, and the food came out quickly. I highly recommend going there for a meal as you won't be disappointed!

Located in a small area of the V&A waterfront, the staff are pleasant and happy to serve you while still managing to quietly and efficiently produce some great food. The range is inevitably limited to mainly Oysters, Squid and Prawns with various dressings but the old adage about doing well what you do best, in this case works very well. Highly recommended.

Based in the waterfront I can tell you that the there oysters are great and at a reasonable price. Enjoyed it with a glass or 2 of wine or bloody Mary Oyster shot. with seating outside in the summer weather is really a great experience.
Staff is good and effective. Upper management is not on site as it is a very small space, but I can tell you that when you talk too for orders them it is an pleasant experience and they really go the extra mile.

We have always waited very long for our food but this visit spoiled my whole outing. I was waiting for calamari for my daughter while my friends and family were having sushi on the other end of the market. Besides the fact that I missed half of the time there to spend with my friends by the time they had any calamari they filled the other orders and watched them literally took the last oily pieces in the bowl and put that in her container. Luckily I saw this and could ask my money back. While I was waiting there another lady requested money back due to quality issue. Where is the management? I wonder how many refunds are done. They never should have taken my order if they can't deliver. Needless to say I won't the mistake again.

When you go to v&a waterfront you HAVE TO stop at Knysna Oyster Company. Take a seat at the bar in the foodmarket, get some delicous oysters or other Great Seafood and have a glass of ice cold wine. Staff is very Friendly. Perfect place to spend your afternoon.

A group of us were keen to meet for dinner at the V&A Waterfront and the vote was for seafood (with accommodation for one vegan and one person who does not like seafood). We had been told about the Knysna Oyster Company’s new restaurant Seafood on Square and decided to give it a bash. What a gem. Every person raved about their food and apparently the wagu burger was the best ever. The salad also scored highly on the vegan scoreboard).
I must say I had become a bit jaded by the big brand restaurants at the Waterfront that really cost an arm and a leg, but this one delivered at a price we were all happy with.
For an affordable high quality meal with a lovely vibe and attentive staff, this one really wins on all accounts. Have decided to play it safe and booked a table for next weekend (taking overseas visitors and keen to blow their minds).
Well done guys. Great addition to the Waterfront.

From the immediate response I received from Gavin, one of the owners, after querying something prior to our arrival; to the service we received from our waiter, Raza; to the complimentary drink and oyster dish the manager, Jason, surprised a member of our party with, whose 60th we were celebrating; to the top quality of the oyster dishes, and each perfectly cooked item of the seafood platter, that the chef, John, and his team prepared for us.
We could not fault a thing.
A fabulous addition to Cape Town’s restaurants, and one we will definitely be visiting again, and again!

Sick for 2 days after eating oysters and line fish at this place which is located in the V&A Waterfront next to Vovo Telo.
Do NOT waste your time and money at this place. I wish I read the other reviews prior.

This is a relaxing restaurant with good value food and we were well looked after by Nobu!
We enjoyed Prawn Arancini and Tempura prawns for 200 rand.
We then had a well cooked Wagyu burger for 195 rand.
The cab Sauvignon and Shiraz were ok !

We returned to Capetown on our last night of our trip and having seen the Knysna Oyster company when we first arrived we thought we would give it a go and we were glad we did. A lovely chilled glass of SA white wine to wash down the oysters followed by some great sushi was a great way to end our trip. The food service was good but the manager went way beyond that in helping us get an Uber on a very busy Sunday night. I would highly recommend a visit.

A wet day in Cape Town but at 30 minutes notice got an inside table for 5:30 pm!
Small inside but suited our requirements.
Great starters of peppered squid followed by prompt service of kingklip with rice for 2, and prawns and a spicy rice dish.
Wine for two was OK and the meal was not costly.

Even with the Cape South Easter blowing fiercely, the V&A Waterfront was beautifully sheltered yesterday. Our group of six ate at the Knysna Oyster Company and had an overall pleasant experience with a few minor hiccups.
Two of us had their oysters, and despite it being spawning season, they were still fresh and delicious. The sushi combo plate of eight pieces was another hit, offering a great balance of flavours. The prawn bao bun was equally delicious, with its soft, pillowy texture and delicious prawn filling. Another hit were their mussels with a healthy side of nicely lightly toasted bread to scoop up all the juices.
The battered fish and chips, while pleasant, fell slightly short due to the chips being a touch oily and unappealing. The tuna burger proved to be a challenge, requiring three attempts before getting it just right, but the staff handled this with grace and eventually delivered a perfectly cooked dish. (They overcooked the tuna way too much)
We enjoyed our meal in the garden area, which is a lovely, relaxed atmosphere for a fun outing.
While there were a few bumps along the way, the overall experience was positive, and the team's willingness to make things right speaks volumes.
Would we go back?

If you are after an amazing culinary experience, the new Knysna Oyster Company restaurant at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, across from Cape Union Mart, is the place for you !!
Visiting from Australia, we had The Best sushi, burgers and baked cheesecake in southern hemisphere.
The staff are super friendly and were able to smoothly deal with the electricity load shedding.
We will def go back, again and again.

Stopped in here for a light lunch on the first day of our honeymoon. Great oysters, great prices and a cute little atmosphere! We shared the mixed oysters which were 4 cocktail oysters, 4 medium oysters, and 4 large oysters. Personally I liked the medium the best, but they were all good and the mignonette was very nice. We also shared the grilled prawns with French fries. It was the perfect combo for a light lunch, paired with a glass of Sauvignon blanc.

We went to the Kynsna oyster company for lunch as it is rated as one of the top 5 sushi restaurants in Cape Town on Google. It did not disappoint - the sushi was excellent! The service was fast, we got to sit outside, which is such a nice thing to be able to do when you are in the waterfront. I hate eating inside a mall. This is officially our new favorite place to come for sushi!
