Having heard that this place used to sell fish to the local dock workers, you can imagine that the food over the years has just gotten better and better. Fresh, tastey and delicious.

Lovely Sunday afternoon laid back lunch . Although this restaurant has no view , it is a stunning cozy , ambiance , food smell. Very well know for its sea food . And that is what you need to eat there . Good service .... Good family time . Although , be aware that the lunch and evening prizes differ... More

We visit Cape Town about every two years and always make a point to go to Panama Jacks. The seafood platters are Hugh and very fresh and tasty. The service is also good. This trip I have the misto platter for one with calamari, prawns, mussels and a lobster. Needless to say, I cleaned the 12" pan it comes in.

Ended up here - it is buried in the docks area!- after a recommendation. The place has been around for almost 30 years and it is "no frills". The menu is largely seafood - and all fresh - so definitely worth going. We also lucked out - Gavin (I think he manages) introduced us to some really great wines. Totally... More

I love wood fires but the hut stank of wood smoke. Luckily we did not get carbon monoxide poisoning. The food is mediocre and expensive. I had the baby kingklip with roast vegetables. There is no view of the water or harbour. Set in an alleyway in the harbour. Left feeling as if I had been stung in the pocket.... More

This is a local favorite. Its a quirky, hole in the wall kind of place. The wind blows right through it, but it doesn't seem to matter because the food is simply amazing! We had a dinner for two which was a seafood platter that came out in an enormous paella pan. We could not eat it all, there was... More

I have been looking for a great seafood restaurant in the Western Cape since I arrived two years ago and haven't found anywhere I'd return to and, unfortunately this includes Panama Jacks. The menu read really well and I was excited to see all the things i love, and I had difficulty choosing, had the avocado seafood starter, lobsters, prawn... More

Our very regular stop when in Cape Town. Don't let the exterior fool you. Great food and great service. Today we had the cajun calamari and the seafood ritz as starters, peri-peri prawns - finger licking good, cajun grilled hake and the king of deserts: Banoffee Pie! Bring your own wine @ R30 corkage it is a winner.

Overpriced, food average, service average. Our overseas visitors thought the evening was ok, but there are far better restaurants in Cape Town that have better service, better food and at more reasonable prices.
