Wow avoid this place at all costs, unless you want to be treated badly, wait one and a half hours for a pizza in a place that is half empty while the owner hangs out in the courtyard not running the restaurant. This is the...third time we’ve given this place a chance but basically the running of the restaurant is a disaster. Rather go to Pizza Shed down the road, they are prompt and the pizza is amazing.More

Great quality ingredients, interesting toppings and good number of vegan/ vegetarian friendly options. Everytime we try a new pizza somewhere else we always say "Ferdinandos is still better!"

Visiting Cape Town for the first time. Went here and what a lovely place. How bizarre that I visit Cape Town and get the very best pizza I've ever had from anywhere in the world!!! Highly recommended. Great pizza and great service.

Ferdinando's offers many options for vegan foodies. They have a clearly marked vegan section in their menu to make it easy to choose from. The restaurant is cute and intimate, so make sure to book because it gets busy. The Vegana pizza was amazing! It's...a thin base topped with delicious fresh veggies and caramelised onion.More

The ordered pizza was cold and not what was ordered. They charged more that in the restaurant (how ignorant and stupid) although the restaurant is 250 m away. That is really bad service!

Apologies! ♥️ Our pizza is best straight out the oven!

They offer an interesting and different selection of pizzas... which were tasty and a good combination. It would agree to go back. The place itself is a little crowded and the lady behind me kept bumping into me, which made the experience quite annoying. Also,...due to the design and layout, it got very loud inside and the table next to us were basically shouting at each other the whole night (guessing they don’t know how to speak at a normal volume). Overall, I enjoyed my food experience here and would go back.More

Friendly staff, fabulous mojito and sublime tasting pizza. Nice that they allowed a half and half pizza, being my first visit - able to taste 2 pizza in one. Will definitely be back for return visits.

From the moment we entered Ferdinando's (after making a reservation on the phone with a lovely hostess), we knew we were in a special place. There is a vibe that can only be found in a place where people are happy to be together partaking...in great food, drink and conversation! We had two pizzas and both were excellent! This felt like a genuine college hangout and was a nice getaway from the tourist restaurants by the harbor. But it was a little disconcerting to have to wait for the guard to let you in the door and likewise to have to wait for your Uber to arrive before leaving the restaurant.More

We made a special trip here from City Bowl for the Neapolitan style of pizza with the puffy and stretchy edge, which only a few places do in CT (notably "Burrata"). We usually share because my g/f has a small appetite but in order to...make a fair judgment we decided we would try 2 different ones. (We later took away half of each). The pizzas were good, but not very good, there was something indiscernible lacking in the taste. I would give the pizzas a score of 7.5/10. The venue is very basic and student-like, wooden trestle tables and hard benches. Much worse is the location. Its isolated a few hundred yards away from the main restaurant zone along narrow pavements. The run-down suburb is "edgy" enough already, without having to walk out of the centre and there is very little street parking nearby, so you will probably have to park some distance away. They also only open at 4pm and when we arrived at about 5.30 we were the only clients. OK maybe for young people or those who know the area but I certainly wouldn't want to go there after dark. Furthermore it is not cheap - our 2 pizzas (not the most expensive) came to R240, the corkage was R40 (high for such a place) and R45 for a 750ml bottle of sparking water is very high. (Waterfront average R35).More

Last week was my bornday celebrations and I invited a few special people to join me after a art exhibition to Ferdinando's. I have never been there before and that is very unlike me to entertain at a restaurant I have never been before. So,...I followed my gut feeling and after consulting with one of the owners was convinced that I would be able to eat from their kitchen. I am strictly Vegan and it is not always easy for us not to have our food contaminated. Pizza after Pizza was delivered to our table and I a was surprised at the diversity of their menu. Ferdinando's thank you for the joyful service, fabulous atmosphere and letting my serotonin levels escalating as high as your ceiling. I will definitely be eating there more and more. Thank you for your kind staff and letting us suburban's feel at home in town.More

There are many hidden gems to be discovered in Obz. One of these is certainly Ferdinando's. Upon entering, you are immediately transported to a warm Bohemian vibe. This establishment has kept a lot of the decor of the original house and the choices of beautiful...art pieces really do add to the relaxed atmosphere. The upstairs section is usually reserved for private parties. This offers a more intimate setting away from the hustle and bustle of the downstairs bar - while providing enough space for a party of 15 to 20 people. If you are looking for a wholesome experience with great food and an awesome atmosphere, Ferdinando's is definitely the place to be.More

While we usually order takeaways from this fabulous pizza & pasta gem in Obz, Cape Town, this time we had a sit-down meal with a friend and it was lovely. Although the waitress initially tried to seat us upstairs all by ourselves, we found a...table downstairs in the packed and convivial vibe. We started with the complimentary and can’t-stop-eating pizza dough crisp straws with their insane homemade aioli, and continued with a couple of pizzas and a spinach & ricotta ravioli in burnt butter sauce. Delicious.More

I've said it before, but a return visit reminded me that this is Obs at its best, and I know everyone has their own view on subjects like pizza, but could these be the best in Cape Town? They certainly are using the right flour...(which another favourite of ours does too, but here its combination of generosity, at very affordable pricing) Yes its usually full, and noise levels in certain parts of the restaurant indeed are high, but there are areas where its less noisy. The warm welcome, the recognition of return clients, and yes one must allow time for when they are really busy, but we loved our visit. Wonderful bread sticks and a delicious garlic (and I am not a garlic fan) aioli on the table and its available by the jar (which they provide) at a very low cost to take home (they call it their 'pension plan). They remembered I was not a fan of loud music no matter how casual the venue, as combined with the general buzz, it can overwhelm. They have a security guard outside to look after your car and you (and its just away from the very busy Obs intersection), We sat upstairs which we prefer, and will not wait long before returning.More
