We had an amazing time at this restaurant. Attention to detail from subtle confetti on the table to a birthday cake. The food was delicious. Too many choices on the menu! The waitress was very attentive. Lovely location on the Bellville waterfront.
Thoroughly enjoy this restaurant not only for its fantastic food which we first experienced when they opened in Durbanville but also the friendly authentic Thai service and atmosphere. we always have the best food and best time when eating here. Keep up the good work.
Ton Khoon never disappoints. Johan, Anni and the rest of the team are next level - always paying attention to detail. The food is incredible - you can order anything from sushi, to traditional Thai dishes - you will love it.
Once again a wow of an evening. A Christmas Eve with a difference. The food was wonderful as always, Staff attentive without overpowering. The highlight of the evening which we were unaware of was The Hungarian Trio, world-famous without doubt. The whole restaurant joined in...singing carols and well-known songs, it was unbelievable & beyond expectations. We were also treated to a famous African singer, who sang she was also dining with friends. All in all a fabulous evening and also feel my best ever Christmas Eve. Thankyou Ton KhoonMore
Undoubtedly the best Thai food you will get outside of Thailand (and probably in Thailand too). The service and food is impeccable. Do yourself a favor and go
My only regret is that we did not eat here before. The food is simply amazing... all of it. The service matches the food. We will definitely be back.
It's been a few months since out last visit - Johan and Annie welcomed us warmly. It was good to be back - service professional as always. Restaurant has stayed top because of Johan's and Annie's unwavering dedication to only using the best ingredients available...- for example, I learnt yesterday that their Sushi rice is imported from Australia - it is regarded as the best sushi rice in the world - learnt something new. They import their tuna from Mauritius etc... It's this refusing to lower standards that has kept them on the top and why the majority of customers are repeat customers. I rate their Tom Yum as the best in the world and I have been to Thailand 4 times. The green curry and red curry duck were superb - just the right amount of heat. This restaurant is a bit more expensive than the normal Thai restaurant - but there is a very good reason - it is actually excellent value for money once you learn where all the food was sourced from that is on your plate. Something Special. Go Today - Don't delay and you'll come back the following day.More
In this type of setting, you would not really expect to be wowed. The food was authentic and very tasty. It has a cozy, romantic feel at night. The peking duck was not the best we've had (Hong kong tops that) but it was nice.
I’ve just read the reviews of this restaurant after a first visit last night. I had been told how enthusiastic they are. The reviews I’m reading are very much at variance with our experience. Yes, the restaurant is nicely furnished and presented, and the staff...are attentive and friendly. But our experience of the food was massively disappointing. My wife and I ordered Crispy Duck with pancakes, followed by Thai Red Curry with beef. The duck was not crispy, it was tough, dry and overcooked, it was not shredded. The hoisin sauce was bland. The red curry, which we ordered mild came extremely spicy, and fairly rough, and featured very little beef in a sea of sauce. I have to say that the left-over hoisin sauce did come in useful as we blended it with the curry sauce to try to make it slightly more palatable. This partly worked! One of the least good Thai food experiences I’ve had in a long time.More
