This is one of my regular places for breakfast, the place is cozy and really different to what you expect! The food is amazing and there are so many little touches that make it unique! I would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for a cafe experience that'll leave you wanting more!

Enjoyed a first class light al-fresco lunch under the trees. Their menu is innovative and quirky with some great options. They support local organic food suppliers which is great to see. The food quality was great, we all enjoyed our various choices. They were also very reasonably priced which was an added bonus.

I've been here loads of times, with my boyfriend for breakfasts, with friends for a catch up and even alone. I love the chilled vibe. The coffee is great, as are the freshly made juices. And love the fresh delicious breakfasts.

What a shame, been there twice in two weeks hoping the service would improve. First visit we ordered 3 meals for 3 people. Only one arrived after an hour we cancelled the other two. Next visit we waiting 40 mins for a drinks order which didn't arrive still with no one having asked for lunch order. Again got up and... More

Booked a table for a Birthday Brunch at Freedom Cafe for Sunday 3rd July - spoke to management three weeks before and confirmed number of guests three days before. When I got to the venue on Sunday morning, table was not set up - service was non-existent and absolutely terrible. Its a pity as this Cafe has such a beautiful... More

Lovely restaurant with great food and free wifi. The decorations, colorfully dressed waiters and natural light made for a great atmosphere, and the food was really cheap for how tasty and filling it was.

Down little side street near the race course, this was a delightful find. It started with the friendly, very helpful car guard and continued through the outdoor seating under a magnificent tree, friendly service & great food ! Good coffee and a big jug of water on the table and our food served in tin bowls all added to the... More

I love the Freedom Cafe (: The atmosphere is beautiful. The service was great too and so were the breakfast options. I can definitely recommend it, even if you just go for coffee. If you visit Durban you shouldn't miss it. It is a fancy place.

Wow!! We stayed at the Concierge Hotel, and the Freedom Cafe is part of their premises. (Open for public also). The menu is exciting and their food is great!! Very friendly staff with relatively quick service.

"free your mind, body and soul at Freedom Cafe; good food, great company and beautiful surroundings" The café-in-a-can is a concentrate of all we enjoy most in entertaining. It’s intimate, relaxed, and with décor by crack Egg Designs duo Roche and Greg Dry, unselfconsciously stylish. The menu, like the lady, evolves constantly, guided only by the mantra: ‘local, fresh, direct.’Guests watch through a hatch in the compact courtyard kitchen, even wander through this en route to the loo. They linger contentedly under trees strung with jam-jar lights and beaded dreams (‘joy,’ ‘love,’ ‘peace’), nursing cappy and cupcakes on yellow wire Egg rockers or black plastic daxie benches. Then as the shadow of neighbouring St Mary’s church spire creeps slowly across the sand.
