Chez Alina is in the heart of Soweto, and offers ethnic foods along with delightful entertainers. The food is wonderful and entirely home made. Food is served on a buffet so you are free to sample many different dishes. The staff was very pleasant. The two performers, singers, did a wonderful show throughout most of our lunch and they truly... More

We had a small group go to lunch at Chez Alina, and overall we had a really good experience. The host was very kind, and the food was fantastic. The only downside is that there were giant motor coaches filled with tourists also there at the same time which gave the restaurant a tourist trap kind of feel. Due to... More

You do not expect to find home-made everything in a comfortable setting in Soweto but that is exactly what you will find. The lunch we had was buffet style and it was obvious Alina takes great pride in her food and surroundings. The choices were home style-nothing over the top: chicken, beef stew, salads, vegetables, fresh cake, ice cream and banana sliced for... More

Our group was very warmly welcomed to Chez Alina. You feel that every customer is important for them. The restaurant has its own character. The food is made in tasty homemade cooking style. Everything in the interior is clean and cosy. Warmly recommended!

From the first hallo to the final goodbye wave - a lovely experience. Great tasty food, friendly staff in an ordinary Soweto street. I highly recommend Alina's restaurant.

For delicious local home cooking and wonderful service, head to Alina's neighborhood restaurant in Soweto. Food is served buffet style, with choices such as vegetable and meat stews, butternut squash, homemade bread, greens, hominy, and more. If this restaurant wasn't across the world from my home, I'd be back regularly. Thanks to Alina for create this homey haven in Soweto.

This small house has been renovated by the owner Alina, for visitors to be served a typical African meal. Alina has given much of her time helping out the local children and anyone who visits is treated to courtesy, friendliness and the dancing of the locals after the meal is wonderful! If you can, do offer a tip, as these... More
