As a born and bred South African it was good to visit Vilikasi Street. I had heard a lot about this famous street and the all the restaurants situated in it. It was good traditional South African food, as expected, served in the the traditional buffet way. The restaurant has tried to keep the decor and furniture as simple as... More

Food is average but service absolutely atrocious. Sitting for an hour after finishing a drink and no waitress, no plates to fetch food and not a single friendly word. Unacceptable especially for a business dinner.

The unlimited buffet of South African food was very good and reasonably priced. The staff were warm and welcoming, and it was nice to sit outside at be entertained by various groups of singers and dancers working for tips and sometimes very good.

This has been so far to me the best restaurant I ever went in Johannesburg. The place is in Soweto. If you want to eat real food, talk to real people, then go to the Sakhumzi restaurant. It is by the way in the same neighborhood as the Mandela house, so if ever you’d go there for a visit, I... More

It has good vibes and good food. I certainly enjoyed my stay there. Though the service could be much better.

They serve good traditional South African cuisine. Was here for lunch and it was buffet style. I loved the seating outside facing the soweto street.

Sitting outdoors on picnic benches, we ate our buffet of beef stew over rice with tomato onion sauce, roasted veggies, several different kinds a of pap, beets, steamed bread. They had a nice wine selection. The picnic tables and benches are under a cover, so we weren't too hot. We were entertained by Zulu dancers and other dancers doing the... More

We visited this restaurant after a tour of Soweto so we were hungry and ready for good food. They have a buffet with all the traditional food regulars and dessert. They had yummy tripe and Ting(South African brown maize meal) it as delicious. They serve loads of different salads and their ice cream? Yum Staff is friendly and always ready... More

not my kind of place but good for tourists who want to take a picture with the street artists performing in front of it and for tasting some typical local dishes. Average quality of food and drinks. However, lovely atmosphere and friendly service.

Had lunch there with another couple. Chose the buffet which was a selection of different South African hot and cold dishes. Tried almost all of them as you could serve yourself several times. Most of the dishes were very tasty although some of the meat could have been trimmed better. I also tried Tripe which I managed to eat but... More
