We frequent Bukharas in Cape Town, but this one is a step above. Very good Indian food, well presented with a extensive wine list

This is probably one of the better Indian restaurants in Johannesburg. The setting and ambience are ok - not spectacular. It's in a shopping mall. The food is very good North Indian fare - quite rich. It's not that cheap. They have a decent wine list. Good for vegetarians.

I was staying over in Johannesburg for a slightly long trip this time and hence had a strong craving for Indian food. Looked at the reviews and thought of trying out this place. The ambience is nice but the food quality compared to authentic Indian food is not good. The paneer tikka was overcooked and hence became dry, the aloo... More

Never ever again. Bad attitude from the waiters, two hours for food to arrive, take aways streaming out the door and irate customers. Last time.

Visited this place on a business trip. Major disapointment. Passing themselves off as high end. Its anything but that. They are way overpriced as well. Had butter chicken with chicken that was so rubbery and tough. I am sure they used yesterdays leftovers and dumped in some gravy. I will not recommend this place to anyone. Avoid at all costs.

The food is great as well as the service. Make sure you have the Dal Makhani and Naan. Wine list is not extensive yet great selection of varietals and blends from SA. The place really starts to buzz after 1930.

Took time to locate but was worth the hunt! Karari tandoori roti for those who understand 'karari' , tasty chicken tikka and above average daal makhni. Will surely come back again to try out other items. The portion size is good for 2-3 persons. Even a Naan is big for one adult. Wish you have thali option/ set menu for... More

If you love Indian food, this is the place to eat. Its elegant and tastefully decorated. They are Halal though they don't have a certificate as they serve alcohol. Their food is really delicious and full of flavor. Their Dhal Makni is world renowned and is a must try. They don't have a very big menu but have all the... More

let me start off by saying that I'm not a expert on Indian cuisine, but i do enjoy spicy food. In saying that, bukhara hits the spot. If you are not familiar with Indian food you struggle to identify a dish on the menu, but i found the waitress helpful in picking out a meal. the food was amazing but... More

Visited on a Monday, which appeared to be a slow evening. There is a nice selection of starters and curries, which are full of flavor ranging from approximately 100-225 Rand. The price may be a little higher, but the quality sets it apart from the others. I enjoyed a spicy Chicken Chettinad while my colleague enjoyed the Murg Lababdar (kicked... More
