This is one of my favourite places for High Tea in JHB - great selection and good value (although they should include Cappuccinos in the price). You get kicked out after 5pm though so maybe start the high tea a little earlier as I don't feel 2 hours is enough.

This review is long overdue! My wife and I had dinner here for the second time and, as with the first time, it was a memorable experience. Piccolo Mondo is really fine dining at its best. It is a beautiful restaurant with a elegant interior and a wonderful view of Nelson Mandela Square if you are fortunate enough to get... More

I treated my friend to high tea at the Piccolo Mondo on Saturday afternoon. The staff were very attentive and friendly and made my friend feel very special. The buffet was very generously laden with all kinds of traditional and modern sweet and savory treats. The price was reasonable at R255 compared to other high tea venues. One word of... More

The resturant view the nelson mandela square. It has two elevations so you can have a premium view. Our waiter was Mr. Godfrey; he was excellent; smile from the heart, willing to deliver excellence and he did. I ordered spinish omlete and was very good. Hot chocolate was also very good. Black coffee was very good too. Pastries were perfect.... More

Finding parking at the Michaelangelo is a nightmare, go park at the Da Vinci Mandela Square and go to level 4 via the hotel lobby. Took me a good 30 min to find parking. So already irritable because I expected valet from a 5 star hotel. I called Ellen a month in adv requesting a table at the window and... More

Dinner in a restaurant - anywhere in the world - is not just about the quality of the food. That can be had in many places. What makes a restaurant truly outstanding, if one is prepared to pay a bit more than just "eating dinner" is the ambience..., the decorations, the location, views from the windows (at Mandela Square in... Had dinner on my last night of stay in the hotel. I had salmon and a glass of white wine. Satisfied by the top quality and nice atmosphere. I would definitely recommend to try one if the local wine varieties.
