We booked for the Valentine's Set Menu. The flavours were really good for all the dishes, especially the dessert of chocolate tart with white chocolate ice cream. The wines paired with the dishes were also complementary to the dishes. Unfortunately the portion sizes were such that I left hungry. I would suggest that the starter and mains be a little... More

My husband and I came for a valentines lunch at Dr Kloef. We had the tasting menu, First and second meal was quite tasty, and then it went downhill from there. The chicken texture was not good so then they replaced it with wathog which was not quite the fine dining tasting, nothing over the top. I had the pork... More

If you are looking for a sophisticated dining experience with a delicious fusion of European cuisine with a South African flair, this is the place. The tasting menu speaks to the chef's fine attention to detail and the wine pairing is excellent. One of the most enjoyable meals I have had. Add to that the friendly and professional service and... When booking I asked to be seated near the kids play area. Our table was close to the kids play area, and that was about the only plus for having our Christmas dinner at De Kloof. The food was average for fine dining. The service was bad. The table was shabby and not festive at all (given the event) The... More

We chose the 5 course tasting menu. Each course was absolutely delicious and perfectly balanced with a great selection of wines. We were very impressed and satisfied!

We had dinner here with 2 families (small kids). Kids can choose from the burger restaurant menu instead. We went for the 5 course dinner. The food was excellent and the location of the restaurant is wonderful. Try to reserve a table on the sheltered terrace : that way you'll enjoy a beautiful sunset while enjoying your diner. The kids... More

Went there for Xmas Lunch. Have never been and the menu for the day looked great! Real fine dining or so I thought. The food was shocking! Smoked butter - NOT!. Smoorsnoek which is a typical SA dish - was inedible. Seared Tuna was VERY overcooked Tuna. Turkey Roulade so dry one could not eat it. Olive crumble was pieces... More

Once every few years, a restaurateur has the distinct displeasure of encountering a guest who is so negative, so dripping with pure displeasure from the second they step foot through the door, that it makes them question why they went into this industry. You madam, are that person. When even the surrounding tables call us over to commiserate and encourage... More

Three of us are here tonight. The setting was stunning and we are on the terrace while watching the sun set. Our server, Richard, was very knowledgeable about the menu and I set him some challenges as I am a wheat and dairy free diabetic. We all enjoyed our meal and can thoroughly recommend De Kloof.

We visited De Kloof tonight and the starters was good and the mains average. Good location and service, but unfortunately my night was absolutely spoiled by the worst "cheese" platter I ever saw. Quite simple, if you don't have any cheese , apologize and offer something else. Don't try to trick customers with creamy obscure substances and chutney. No cheese,... More

We booked in advance especially to eat at at De Kloof restaurant; we didn't receive the table we asked for and we were met with much resistance when we asked to move. VIP prices are charged for less than VIP meals and the portion size and variety are mediocre at best. Good wine list and knowledgable somelier. Not likely to... More
