We usually go the Ghazal in sunninghill but on 17th Dec Ghazal Sunninghill was fully booked for someone 60th birthday. so we went to Ghazal in Bryanston. We really enjoyed having our dinner at Ghazal Bryanston. The food was very tasty, our white wine was excellent and service was really good.

Jan 23 dinner: Highest rated restaurant in Johannesburg on Zomato - had to try this one. The restaurant is quite big and the ambience is just right. We were the only Indians and the place was full of local South Africans. So, in my mind, I was a bit skeptical. But my doubts were gone once the food came. The... More

Very nice food. Great service. Ambience is good. Was in December twice for lunch and once for dinner. Had vegetarian food with some pinotage wine. Helpings are big for one person particularly if one orders roti or naan on top of rice which comes with the curries. Would go there again.

I've been eating at Ghazal for years. The food is always good and the owners always pleased to welcome you. Ghazal is a great place for a romantic dinner. I took my wife frequently when we dated. Now we more often order a take away, or book a table on date night. Will always go back to Ghazal for great... More

We had visited the restaurant again on a weekend evening to give a 2nd try. I am trying to make a comparison between Indian restaurants in and around Sandton & Rivonia based on my visit to these Indian restaurants. When we visited on a weekend evening, the restaurant was empty and most probably we were the only customers at that... More

Great Indian food with excellent service and ambiance. My second visit while visiting and will definitely be back! Mild Chicken Corma was excellent. Don't forget to order Naan!

I had not been to Ghazal for some time - live a fair distance away. Greeted by name and seated quickly - ordered a medium Chicken Curry - usually a good standard Curry. The food arrived and I noticed that the chicken breast was cut in large pieces. The meat was tender but the spices had not infused in the... More

I was a regular at Ghazal in Peter Place Sandton many years ago. Stopped going because of the distance from where I live. What a pleasant surprise to discover that they have opened at Melrose Arch. I tried it Saturday evening. Besides a very nice setting and position the food was deliciously North Indian and it made me realize how... More

Ghazal was my Indian restaurant of choice in Joburg. Lately, however, the quality has being slipping. The last straw was today, when I was served with crushed rice instead of traditional high quality basmati rice. The food is still good, but nothing spectacular anymore. I will be looking for another Indian restaurant to change to.
