We had visited the restaurant again on a weekend evening to give a 2nd try. I am trying to make a comparison between Indian restaurants in and around Sandton & Rivonia based on my visit to these Indian restaurants. When we visited on a weekend evening, the restaurant was empty and most probably we were the only customers at that... More

Great Indian food with excellent service and ambiance. My second visit while visiting and will definitely be back! Mild Chicken Corma was excellent. Don't forget to order Naan!

I had not been to Ghazal for some time - live a fair distance away. Greeted by name and seated quickly - ordered a medium Chicken Curry - usually a good standard Curry. The food arrived and I noticed that the chicken breast was cut in large pieces. The meat was tender but the spices had not infused in the... More

I was a regular at Ghazal in Peter Place Sandton many years ago. Stopped going because of the distance from where I live. What a pleasant surprise to discover that they have opened at Melrose Arch. I tried it Saturday evening. Besides a very nice setting and position the food was deliciously North Indian and it made me realize how... More

Ghazal was my Indian restaurant of choice in Joburg. Lately, however, the quality has being slipping. The last straw was today, when I was served with crushed rice instead of traditional high quality basmati rice. The food is still good, but nothing spectacular anymore. I will be looking for another Indian restaurant to change to.

If you are looking for a good korma and naan bread Ghazals is hard to beat. Even the kids love the mild dishes.

You just cant help it. The food is so tasty you cannot desist. Contrary to usual Indian food establishments, this food does not just deliver burn...the curries, and in fact all the food, is aromatic with complicated flavours of creative spiced cooking. Traditional dishes, traditionally served. Good service too. The manager is constantly on the floor keeping an eye on... More

Enjoyed the meal very much. It was nice to see the Samoosa's prepared the old fashioned way. The onion Badjia were very tasty, and we regretted not ordering another portion. I had the lamb chops, which were tasty, but not the best cut. My companions Chicken Vindaloo was apparently very pleasant. Waitron was not very attentive, and did not check... More
