A much changed menu, still keeping some of the classics which formerly made them great such as the white wine mussels and chips, working in some new classics and their specials menu which is no longer the same old. The menu and my experience made me want to return at least 3 more times in the next 2 months. From... More

Been going to TM for years and standard has been so good - the staff just know what to do to make the event great - not really a fish eater but try the Monty's Fish Cakes - really good - also very extensive wine list - I much prefer over the sister restaurant, Red Rabbit with only drawback being... Positive: 1) Lovely French Bistro style restaurant 2) Extensive wine list - decanting on request (see areas of improvement) 3) Excellently sourced produce 4) Classics to try: Wasabi Steak, Crayfish pasta (when available, pricey but worth it) Areas of improvement: 1) Some decanters are chipped and seem over used - patrons pay enough to have a decent decanter. 2) Cupcakes... We love this spot for special occasions and their creative bistro style menu. Service is always spot on, and meals are presented beautifully. Food is great, too. My only issue here is the wine list - it's absolutely impressive, but many of the selections aren't available. Last night we went through four choices before finding one in stock. This also... More

Noodles over cooked. Great tartar. Shrimps small but very tasty and fresh. Rabbit ragout not spiced enough with onions to big cut and bay leaves still in source.

The Thomas Maxwell restaurant is on 11th Street in Parkmore. A smallish restaurant, it serves excellent meals. Lovely

Thomas Maxwell is a large restaurant but never feels too big because it occupies what appears in the past to have been three adjacent premises. The food is always superb and reasonably priced for the quality served.

Food portions are not what they used to be. The ice cream and Chocholate sauce was a big disaster. The Chocholate sauce was so hot and boiling that you can't handle the container to put the sauce on your ice cream. Nevertheless my husband burned his hand horrible trying to get the sauce onto the ice cream and all the... More

Inventive menu and excellent value for money compared to more central Sandton restaurants. Friendly staff and good surroundings to enjoy a meal.
