The staff were very efficient and helpful. The menu had a descent variety and our choices were served up without to big a wait. The choices we had was all different. The food we had was all very good and it was descent portions. The...owner / manager of the restaurant could improve customer relations as not once over two visits did I see her smile nor did she acknowledge our existence, apart from telling us the place was closing. Her abrupt manner was not enough to soil our night or enjoyment of the foodMore

Sat outside with views of the ocean in the distance. Service was good and the food excellent. Got there as other restaurants in the main street had Queues but really pleased we did. Small but well balanced menu and all dishes really good. Highly recommended

This must be the worst restaurant in Plett, the owner has a bad attitude, the food was disgusting, and a waste of time and money, don't bother,

This is no review, just another by now, well-worn attack on the "OWNER"

I usually only leave reviews if my experience somewhere is very good. I’d like others to benefit from experience. In this case I’d like others to benefit suggesting they avoid this restaurant. We had no reservation and felt lucky to grab the last table from...another party around 7:30pm. After being seated it took almost 20 minutes to get drinks and nearly a further hour to get our food. At several points throughout the sitting there were no staff on the floor or in sight. When they were there they were hurried and uncertain. My wife’s dish, Cape gurnard, is shown on the menu as coming with mashed potato, she asked for a side of vegetables but the mash was replaced by the vegetables and no apology or offer was made to make it better. I shared mine with her just to make it easier - I didn’t want to wait 15 minutes for a small portion of mashed spuds. During our visit I checked trip advisor and wished I had looked before entering. I would have avoided it as other reviewers had similar experiences. Silly me. When the bill came (It took a while and I requested it early) I was overcharged by an entire bottle of wine. It was adjusted but I felt like I was on an Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares. Such a same. Avoid this place.More

Dear D3799JGseanc, It gives me some satisfaction that you described the food served at The Med as "good" . But then I am surprised that you regard 20 minutes as a long time to wait for drinks when you walk into a full restaurant during...More

This is what the owner told me when I asked her how much longer it would take for our food to arrive! We were the second table seated in the restaurant at 7.16pm on the night of January 1st after making a reservation we placed...our order. No starters, just mains for a family of 5. 1 waiter, at 8.46pm I approached the owner at the same time another patron was asking her for a table, the owner (name unknown - she refused to give it to me) Threw her notebook on the table and said she had had enough, that all tables were being prepared 1 at a time that I was told this and that she had been working since 7am. I pointed out that none of my family had been told any such thing and that tables that had arrived later than us were eating, I also said that if she could not manage then she should have never taken my booking and rather closed for the night... at this point AND at the top of her voice the owner shouted at me to “go to hell”, can you imagine my shock, the entire restaurant turned to look. I politely walked away told my family to get up as we were leaving. As I was walking out this lady, the owner as I asked if she was the owner proceeded to verbally abuse me and tell me that she’s been in the business for 33 years. I told her that I am also in the service industry and would never dream of insulting a guest. She just kept saying “shame, shame!” The menu was very basic, service on drinks way below average! It is now 9.17pm and I am waiting at KFC for my husband to purchase takeaways, to feed my kids and my 88 year old father in law. I’m absolutely appalled, as were most of the other patrons who expressed their complete shock at “The Owners” verbal abuse of not only me my husband, children and father in law but also other unhappy customers! I would not recommend this restaurant at all. If this is how the owner treats her customers imagine how she treats her staff, which would probably explain the lack of waiters!More

It amazes me how ignorant people can assume things that they have no knowledge of - like the absence of half of the staff on the 1st of January, being the fault of the OWNER. I have kitchen staff that's been with us for between...More

The menu online seemed to be very nice so we decided to have diner at this bistro. There were not many people inside, probably because it's a little bit hide away. Though the food was very good and we really enjoyed it. You just have...to try this place, you won't regret! We took the calamares with chorizo and the basil chicken curry! Yummie!More

The restaurant seemed good from the street, but once inside, very empty. The service was average but the food, once it arrived, was ok. They don't seem to know how to make a Classic Martini, but we powered through and enjoyed the meal. Upon close...inspection, the restaurant is tacky, with photostatted menus and dirty table cloths - not a good first impression.More

We arrived, having booked a table, to an nearly empty restaurant, with 2 tables occupied. Staff seemed efficient and helpful, but after ordering we realised that did not apply to the underworked kitchen and our food took ages to arrive. Food was OK, nothing more...and that meant it was overpriced for what we got. Plett is a busy holiday town at this time of year, with crowded restaurants. This one was certainly not busy and I can see why.More

Enjoyed a tasty seafood linguine and a Gorgonzola and pear salad followed by creme brûlée and an ice cream with Amarula liqueur. Great two course dinner for two with drinks for 350R. Our waitress was friendly and made us feel welcome. It's a bit quieter...than other places on Main St and feels like a hidden gem!More
