We stopped here after leaving the Petrified Forest and going out the South end on our way back to the Phoenix area. Since it was late we decided to stop here for local fare instead of a chain place. And I am glad we did! Their burgers are great, my wife enjoyed the tamales and my brother and sister-in-law shared... More

Come in for the good service and the charm of old things strung from the ceiling and shoved in every corner. Unfortunately, my Navajo taco had an entire can of beans on it and 2 teeny pieces of meat in the green chili sauce. Maybe I didn't order the right thing but otherwise, we enjoyed the experience.

I just don't get what the locals see in this place. It's dark, dirty, messy, ugly and stuffed to the brim (including the ceiling) with old, crappy junk. At what point did it become de riguer to hunt through junk yards and garage sales to hang any old rusty piece of garbage on the walls and call it "quaint"? During... More

Don't let the outside nor the inside fool ya! This is a hidden gem. The waitstaff was efficient, friendly and very good at her job. The food was pretty good but not off the hook. It is well worth the stop if you're into mom/pop locations. Be sure to check out all the curios inside the place.....some history for sure.

We stopped here for lunch today while driving Route 66. The waitress was very sweet and service was prompt, but the food was disappointing. The restaurant and small gift shop had some Route 66 memorabilia, but that was about the only plus.

We like to try all the small mom and pop independently owned eateries when we're on the road. We've hadn't tried Mr. Maestas, an oldie on Route 66 yet, so decided it would be a good spot for dinner. Sadly, we were somewhat disappointed. Upon entering there were a few people dining but no sign of any restaurant staff. Finally... More

We tried this at the suggestion of hotel clerk because the Mexican restauraunt that was supposed to be the best was closed respectfully for Memorial Day. I had a combo plate: Taco, Chile Relleno, enchilada, tostada. It was ok, the green chile was good and hot enough, I love fried tacos and that is how they were served, but made... More

Bugs, dirty dishes, rude service!!! My glass of water had someone else's lipstick on it. Then my beer glass had meat grease that made my beer oily and smelling like a taco. Then my salad dressing dish had those tell-tale little brown spots of bug droppings!!! Then I found a bug in my dressing. I very politely told my waitress... More

This place is part antique warehouse/second hand store and first rate Mexican food. We had a taco plate (which includes rice & beans plus a delicious sopapilla for dessert) and a sopapilla stuffed with ground beef, beans and smothered with green chili. The green chile was just right with lots of vegetables and big chunks of melt-in-your-mouth pork. Really good... More
