We ate here on our Christmas vacation trip last year and enjoyed it so much that it as the first place we stopped on our return this year. We were seated right away. Great service. Chicken fried steak, mash potatoes, vegetables, minestrone soup and corn bread were very good. Chocolate shake was sooo chocolatey. Yummm....server came back several times to see if there was anything else...Wow, that's service.

we have eaten at this black bear several times over the years and I must say that usually the food is good and plentiful, but the last two out of three times we have been there the service has been lousy. it took forever to take our order and was about ready to walk out when the waitress showed up.... Delicious breakfast... omelettes, eggs, thick bacon and ham, sweet cream pancakes. The wait was a bit long (approx 20 min) but it was well worth it!! We will return!!

We have been here to eat breakfast many times over the last few years. Never leave disappointed. Always leave with either a doggie bag (due to huge portion sizes) or one of the homemade desserts to enjoy later. The servers are very friendly and efficient. Reasonable prices. Here are some of our favorites: House-made Corned Beef Hash.........4.5/5 Sweet Cream Pancakes......................5/5... More

Delicious, traditional breakfast fare. Outstanding homemade bacon and sausage. The 'strip cut' hash browns are excellent.

This restaurant reminds me of an old mom & op restaurant. Love the food and the service is pretty good as well. Never disappointed and have eaten here many times. I think the portions are fairly generous.
