We are a full service delicatessen that showcases local products and services, including artists, bakers and other culinary professionals, and provides our guests with a unique dining experience. NYTDeli was created to make a difference, not only do we serve incredible food, NYTDeli also creates opportunities for those who usually don't get them! We have created an integrated work environment for those with autism and/or developmental disabilities. The Deli is an awesome way for us to educate, train and integrate into the community!

When you first walk in you’re greeted by the super friendly owner as well as a bakery counter filled with the biggest cookies and amazing looking cannolis! Their sandwiches were huge and delicious. I had the Cuban. My grandma used to make these for me, and I think she’d approve of this one. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meal! We topped off our meal with a huge chocolate chip cookie and a cannoli to go! Definitely check it out if you’re in the area!

During the pandemic, I heard about this restaurant from a friend, so I decided to order online and pick up something for dinner. It is a locally owned restaurant that serves amazing food. But what makes this place even better is who is employed here and the love you feel when you walk in, even in the midst of a pandemic. I'll continue to support this restaurant while eating amazing food.

My husband and I have been searching for a great deli sandwich that has that midwestern taste. The Ruben did not disappoint! We also tried the turkey pastrami and the taste and twists on this sandwich was another hit. We finished our meal with the cookies folks recommended, shared a chocolate chip and enjoyed it! We decided to dine in but this
place does a busy carryout too.

Our son took us here while we were in town. My wife & I split a meatball sandwich & chips. The sandwich was AWSOME, very flavorful! Adding pesto sauce to the sandwich really added to the flavor. I also had a HUGE Reese's stuffed chocolate chip cookie, which was so delicious! I plan on going back to get some for our road trip home!!!

I love the sandwiches here and I decided to order something I have never ordered before. The meatball sub. I didn't eat it. It had some green sauce drizzled all over the top of the sandwich. I did not like it at all. I would suggest that the chef re-invent the making of the meatball sandwich with a new concept and remove the green sauce all together. I will go back. I just won't ever order that sandwich ever again.

This was my first time going and it’s from all the great reviews and pictures that had me craving a good sandwich. The pastrami is off the charts and so was the Mac n cheese. I also ordered the caprese grill sandwich which was pressed and delicious. While waiting I found out they were from Shaker Heights, Cleveland Ohio via Corky and Lenny’s, the best deli! No wonder why this is so exceptional! A+++

I'd highly recommend this little deli. The food is delicious and they have so many yummy treats. Above all, the staff is kind, welcoming and on their A-game. Not to mention they have some pretty special team members that will brighten your day. Don't miss out.

Not Your Typical Deli has been serving Gilbert since 2016. Locally owned and operated by several Arizonans including the experienced and talented Chef W. Their goal is put simply, as good as their craveable menu. The Deli employs those with developmental disabilities and aims to promote a culture that both employs and embraces these individuals for who they are. The service is neatly impeccable; friendly smiles meet polished manners combined with a laid-back cordial attitude. the food is just as astounding: the tang of savory BBQ white pork on fresh warm bread, a classical pastrami sandwich with shaved meat so thick that despite it sheer size, it only takes one bite to appreciate the complexity of flavor. Not into sandwiches? Cool. The Deli proudly serves other house-made items such as the Chicago dog and the Macaroni dog (yes, you read that correctly). Their expansive menu includes various burgers all of which are delicious, made-from-scratch house salads, and LOADED FRIES. I needn't say pick-or-choose-wisely as everything on the menu is absolutely to die for. Their pastries are hand-made daily by a team of talented bakers: recipes that come from Chef W. and Chef Vanessa's own families that were passed from generations. Their ginormous chocolate chip cookie not only satisfies a sweet tooth, but that brings delight to sweet-and-savory lovers too. Everytime I have come has been a wonderful experience, and undeniably worth it.

Some of the best sandwiches I have ever had and ridiculous stuffed cookies! Easy to access location with activities to do nearby. Indoor or outdoor dining. Friendly staff. Clean facilities. Nice ambiance. Family owned and operated business that also has a program employing individuals with special needs. You won't regret visiting here and may become a regular! 😉

I’m from New York City the pastrami sandwich is great the Rubin yum 1/2 lbs of meat. I cant eat a whole sandwich. The cookies are the best I’ve ever had. 5 of for lunch we were all happy and brought cookies home.

I really don’t get the hype. As you can see from my other posts, I am a foodie and I will always write a fair review. While the portion sizes are quite generous, the food lacks flavor. If I had not ordered the side of au jus for my Italian beef, it would have been incredibly dry. The test was OK, but it was really lacking in flavor. The pastrami was beautiful to behold, but it was dry. The Italian sub was very generic. I can’t believe that all three sandwiches missed the target. I really wanted this to be amazing. We got three different types of cookies as well. They tasted like they were baked a month ago. Hard as a rock! We were extremely disappointed and we will never be back. The restaurant and the bathrooms were very clean. The staff were very friendly. If you are craving a New York deli experience, you’ll be disappointed.

It is tucked into the back corner of a strip mall turned into a trampoline park and a movie. The hours are few as is the seating. The variety is amazing! Spaghetti sandwich? Ok I was tempted, but I went for a safe chicken salad. My friend had the meatball and it looked so yummy! The service was efficient and the food was excellent.

Our group had 3 different sandwiches... a Pressed Italian Pork, a Pastrami and a White BBQ Pork. I taste tested all 3. All were great, but the White BBQ Pork was especially amazing! The service was friendly and we met the owner after our meal. She explained their mission of hiring a majority of employees on the autism spectrum. Made our visit even more special!

Ordered the Italian sub, the bread was hard and the sandwich was very dry. Overpriced for what I got. Did not try the bakery items but they did look good.
