So, we were riding our UTV in the Bloody basin area and our neighbors suggested that we ride to Crown King. We had always wanted to go so decided to go for lunch today. Wow!!!! So glad we did! The ride was 24 miles through the mountains from our campsite. While in Crown King we had lunch at The Saloon.... More

We took my family from Wisconsin up here for lunch. The Bloody Mary's were good and our meals were delicious and the service was friendly and very pleasant.

A bunch of us took the back road to Crown King (not for the faint of heart and certainly not in a car). I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. I had a brisket cheese steak sandwich which came with au jus and fries. Excellent. Meat was flavorful and really tender. I'd go there again...only maybe go... More

We, a bunch of us, stayed at the Bunk House, which is just walking distance from everything. Dinner at the Mill and live music and dancing at the Saloon afterwards. Fun time had by all. Very friendly people. The SmokeHouse prepared amazing coffee, I call it Cowboy coffee, and a reasonably priced breakfast. I ate well this weekend. I see... More

First of all, it is frequently difficult to find vegetarian food in my small towns in Arizona, so after traveling up gravel and dirt roads to an altitude of over 5000 feet, I was surprised to have a great meal! After arriving on my adventure bike, I walked around the town just to set my bearings. I was pretty hungry... More

The nostalgic old mining townsite of Crown King in north central Arizona is well worth the drive over miles of washboard gravel and sand, if you have the right vehicle. The town is a very small, charming leftover from a hundred years ago. There are very basic services including a general store (with a single gas pump), a couple saloons... More

Historic and very picturesque, the Crown King Saloon is the perfect place to have some fries and a burger and beer. You can't beat the live music and the people are friendly.

If you made it to the Crown King Saloon then you survived the drive and it was awesome! Nothing better than an ice cold beer and burger after a dusty ride, at the Saloon. One of my favorite places it never gets old even though the bar is one of the oldest in Arizona. So sit back enjoy a cold... More
