So I grew up in St. Louis. Thank you for your sympathies. St.Louis does have claims to fame…Arch, Cardinals. toasted ravioli, brain sandwiches…yes, brain sandwiches, so good, never seen them anywhere else. Anyway, I write this as the toasted ravioli here is as good as...any in St. Louis. And the bar steak was excellent as well, Walking in you feel an East Coast vibe, but friendly. Loved the toasted rav and the bar steak. Great service, too. Now…if they would just add brain sandwiches, slice of onion on a hamburger bun with a touch of mustard…More

When my husband and I arrived here, the place was packed. We were able to be seated, but others that came a few minutes after us had to wait for a seat. Even though this place was packed, we were given excellent service. The food...was great! I would highly recommend this place.More

Nic's came highly recommended and did not disappoint. The ambience is upscale but comfortable. Maddison greeted us and got us started on some wine and cocktails. The grilled salmon and crab special sounded scrumptious so the men dove in. The ladies went with salads and...shrimp cocktail. All the orders were served promptly and was delicious. The salmon/crab portion was almost overwhelming and could have easily fed two. The prawns were large and fresh and presented beautifully on a tall glass. Nic's is as good as come of the best in Phoenix/Scottsdale and better than most. Get there at 5 (opening time) or you'll wait an hour to get a table. But it's well worth it!More

Nicks Italian steak and Crab House was perhaps one of my favorite restaurant experiences in Cottonwood. Restaurants and bars are also about expectations, what type of bar and restaurant are you going to? And everyone is under staffed, so I always appreciate the service staff...who are working. Cottonwood is a small town with lots of fun restaurants and places to go so you may have to park a little bit away from the restaurant. The restaurant itself has classic type vibe, with lots of polished dark wood and a 40' long mahogany bar. It has that atmosphere of any old school restaurant in any major city. It's a busy place and it's because it's great food and a nice atmosphere. I can say as a single person that it's also welcoming. All the bartenders are very talented and make some really good mixed drinks. I had a wonderful whiskey sour and then I enjoyed some wine with my meal from there really there really good wine list. I saw the size of their skewer appetizers and decided that would be plenty enough for dinner. The skewers include one of steak one of shrimp and one of chicken all char broiled. I really wanted to try to clam chowder as well because I heard so much about it, thr chowder did not disappoint. The skewers were not overcooked and and I decided to go with this shrimp and eat it all but took most of the steak and chicken home with me, I did try a little of each before taking it home and it was wonderful. The bartender was a wonderful guy and he said that I had to try the blueberry cherry napoleon. It was an incredible and amazing tort…so good. I am sure that I will be back again in April next year when I visit.More

Having been to Nics several times before, I expected the same positive experience as previously. The Mahi Mahi with tomatoes, mushrooms, and artichokes was very good, though the steamed broccoli was barely cooked. My sister ordered the Beef Roulade, which she had the last time...when it melted in your mouth, but tonight she said it was tough and gristly. A big disappointment! But what made this dining experience absolutely unenjoyable was how noisy it was in there. We sat a table for two across from each other and could not hear each other to talk and carry a conversation on with one another. It was so undesirably miserable that we couldn’t wait to leave. We also felt that the waitress was just doing her job to get us in and out as fast as possible.More

Will come here again. Good service. Good drinks. Good food. Side salad was split for us to share. Wife had the three-skewer appetizer of shrimp, chicken and steak and enjoyed it. I had the 6oz steak with spaghetti on the side. Steak was done perfectly...and was flavorful. Marinara sauce could use a little bump up in seasoning. Saw people enjoying crab legs and will try that next time.More

The atmosphere and vibe is awesome! Sat at the bar. Observed that the bar was understaffed for the demands of the restaurant. It was a Saturday night and the place was busy! Could have used a bar back to support the bartenders who were working...hard! Food was good. Had the shrimp cocktail and it was good, as was the salad. Ordered crab and fillet. The fillet was great! The crab however, was very disappointing. I was leery about ordering crab in az, but the name of the restaurant made me think it was their specialty, so we went for it. The King crab did not come out of the shell like I have experienced elsewhere. I’m not sure if it was old, or overcooked, but it was very disappointing. The cheesecake was delicious. We would definitely go back.More

My wife and I had dinner at Nick's on Sept. 21st about 7pm. When we arrived it was busy and noisy. The service was very good and my wife had the sauteed Cod and Risotto and I had a bowl of the Clam Chowder and...a glass of Pinot Grigio--everything was excellent. Highly recommended; a 4+ star restaurant; we would return.More

This restaurant is very popular & they only take reservations for large groups. Even on a Wednesday we had a short wait. Fortunately, the special that night was half-price wine, so we ordered a bottle and enjoyed a glass at the bar until our table...was ready. Nic's is quite noisy so we were thankful to get a booth which was a bit quieter. The Clam Chowder soup was truly outstanding as was my husband's salad with champagne vinaigrette. Warm bread with olive oil and lots of garlic was also delicious. However, our entrees were not as satisfying; although good they were not to our taste. My husband's Pasta Carbonara was different than he was accustomed to (we make it at home) and the meatball he ordered to go with it was too spicy. My eggplant parmesan was good, but I did not like the marinara sauce on my pasta. I found it rather sour even a bit bitter. Neither of us liked the tiramisu that was soggy. If we are in Cottonwood again, I would go back, but order only soup, salad and appetizers, which also looked delicious as many people around us ordered them.More

…but we loved the Italian! Our group had the classic Italian meals, Lasagna, Eggplant Parm., Fettuccine Alfredo, Ravioli. They were all excellent dishes. The lasagna was unusually meaty. With your entree, there was a choice of soup or salad. We all chose soup-N. E. clam...chowder, tomato bisque; again, both good. I thought the bisque was excellent. It was light, spiced just right, perfect consistency. We also ordered a Mediterranean salad that had artichokes, as well as other lovely additions. Our server was pleasant and efficient, and the manager (I assume) was quite present, visiting tables, making sure everybody was happy. This is an excellent restaurant in old historic Cottonwood.More

My husband and I had dinner with a group of friends over the weekend. This place was very very busy. Due to our group size we had a private room. The service and food were very good. They had plenty of kitchen staff to accomodate...all of the patrons. We did not wait too long for our food. We would recommend this place.More

I've been to Nic's several times. I had dinner with friends who had never been to Nic's on Sunday July 31. Everything was superb. One had the salmon special with sour orange sauce, another had menu salmon with spinach and artichoke topping, I had the...chicken saltimbocca. My friends really enjoyed both salmon dishes, my chicken was incredibly tender, and the accompanying sauce was delish! Our server, Paula was fabulous. She knew everything about the menu, was accommodating to all our questions and very friendly. We loved her! Our food experience was amazing, and Paula helped to make our entire dining experience over the top! We also indulged in the creme brulee flight which consisted of vanilla, chocolate, and salted caramel. All 3 was delish, but I think I favored the salted caramel. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to Nic's, it won't disappoint!More
